Ellen, you have a lot of challenges, however, I hear in your words a strength and humor that will serve you well as you rise up to meet these challenges. You are of service to me (and every one in this community) as your experiences make a strong point that D is a whole body desease and shouldn't be left unmanaged. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your circumstances. Hugs! Sherrie

That's exactly why I'm here! I've learned more here on this site than anywhere else!! And yes, trying to pass on some info that may help someone else!! All of these "complications" happened within the past year!! And most COULD have been avoided if I had control of my BS #'s!! The biggest problem is when one has NO INSURANCE!! At least that was a big part of it for me!! Couldn't afford to test more than once a day. Then I got to a point where I almost ignored my D because there was nothing I could do about it anyway, BIG MISTAKE!!!! I've had my gall bladder removed a year ago last Nov. and it's been downhill ever since!! Pancreatitus 7 times (pain is worse than childbirth!) 2 Endoscopy Tests along with many others!! Now that I have insurance I can do the rest!! Gettin' everything in that I possibly can NOW!! My calendar runneth over with appts!!!! LOL I've Gotta keep my sense of humor or I'll go outta my mind!!! Hugs back atcha!! Ellen :)

Oh my! You certainly have a lot going on! It just amazes me how many different ways D can affect our bodies! It touches on everything!!

But that you are still smiling and upbeat is a testamony to your spirit! You are a warrior in this. Battles might be won or lost, but the war is far from over.

God Bless you and Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes, it definitely touches on EVERYthing!! And I've only found all this out within this last year!! Just trying to pass on to others that are just starting because a LOT of this could have been avoided if I had controlled my D better AND HAD INSURANCE!!! Haven't been able to work since last Oct. and not sure if I can go back to cooking because of all the complications of my uncontrolled #'s !! If my sugar is high then I run the risk of blurred vision (can't read tickets as they come in to the kitchen) or get really hot and sweaty and dizzy, (definite no no in any kitchen) My hands are not as strong as they were and don't know how much longer my feet will hold up! I'll know if my Dr. will approve me for diablility this Wed. wish me luck!! Not counting on it though. I'm sure he'll say I'm too young or EVENTUALLY it will get better. But, Mom is a strong woman and my inspiration. She has taught me well!! I WILL survive! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving too!! Ellen :)

Sorry for the delay in responding, been trying to catch up!
I'm sorry to hear you might have to quit working. But if you know you can not, it's best not to even go there! You need to concentrate on getting yourself healthier. Hope you doc is on you side. Please let me know when you find out, ok?
Good luck and God Bless, Mickey
