Hello. Does anyone know of any groups/clubs/support groups that actually meet up (in California)? I have yet to meet anyone else my age (I'm 24 now) with diabetes & although I've had it for 16 yrs I still constantly struggle with it. I wish I could meet people, face to face, who truly know & understand what I'm going through.

Howdy snm! WELCOME to DiabetidConnect! So sorry you qualify for inclusion in our little "family"

where in CA? (big state!) Have you checked with your local ADA for possible support groups? Some hospitals had them too. When I lived in SF bay area (moved to NV Dec 2010 ) Kaiser had a couple of regularly scheduled groups. And perhaps others did too. Have you looked at Meetup.com? they may have notices for groups which meet under their banner. Have you checked at your local red cross chapter? or your county health Dept? Perhaps someone from those organizations know of something in your area.

I am fortunate to have a wonderful support group right here in Las Vegas (who'd a thunk it?) Here is their website: http://diabetes-lasvegas.org/

As a last resourt you might want to try starting your own. You may be able to contact Chris Moore for pointers regarding how to start and run such a group. Look at the circle on the home page of the ADEMS site. Click "C" for contact information for Chris.

Good hunting! SRM!

Blessings to you and yours

James
