I'm glad you posted a discussion! I told you i would look for it!
door331 is giving you sound advice. Get a good healthteam going for you. They will help you understand your body a lot better. And a support team is key. We are here for you, but it will be benifical to you if you have people in your everyday life that understand what you are going thru and how you are feeling.
Have you checked with your local health dept? They may be able to point you in the right direction in so far as group supports and counseling. Also your local hospital may have this info for you also. If you are depressed, you really should seek some help to come to terms with this. Diabetes, whether type 1 or 2 is not an easy thing to deal with. Hang tough, it can get better if you try.
I will pray for you.
God Bless, Mickey

Hi smiley13, I am a twenty-something type 1 as well. Here are the three basic things I recommend to control and maintain your diabetes:

-find a good endocrinologist, diabetes educator, and nutritionist— Trust me a good team helps.
-research insulin pumps and determine if this would benefit your lifestyle.
-get support from your family and friends- educate them as well. A good support system will really help keep you motivated and on track.

I wish you the best,

Hiowdy Smiley!
WELCOME to DiabeticConnect. Sorry that you qualify for inclusion in this little online family.

I am not a medical professional nor do I play a Dr on TV, so I am not qualified to give you a diagnosis (Dx) all I can offer is what I have learned in 16 years of being a T2.

I saw in your profile that you have T1 diabetes. And you say you are depressed. That's all I know about you. So I will ask you some questions to get a better picture of what is going on with you.

T1s normally manage their Blood Glucose levels by the use of insulin. Do you have a Dr, and does that Dr have you on an insulin regimen? And if so, what is that regimen? What insulin(s) are you taking and in what quantities? Are you a "shooter" (take shots) or a "pumper" (use an insulin pump).

What are your blood glucose (BG) levels? How often do you take them and when?

There are several more quesitons I could ask. But these will be enough for now. I do not intend to be intusive but I like to give solid suggestions and not a bunch of guesses, which may or may not hit the bullseye.

I am sure others here will be interested and perhaps offer some questions or suggestions of their own. But I like to get a good picture of what is happening with you before I make some suggestions.

again WELCOME to our "little family"

Praying that you and yours have a safe, healthy, happy and BLESSED thanksgiving
