I found out 4 months ago I was diabetic..type II…my A1C started at 9…my Dr about had a stroke…and I knew I had symptoms…but at the time, I had just lost my dad…in fact I found out the day after his memorial service…anyway…she too A1C again last month..I have lost weight and she started me on Metformin 4 times a day…and it was down to 6.6…still losing weight and have changed whole way of eating on top of quitting smoking…so has been a stressful 6 months.
I am having a hard time just really realizing I DO have diabetes…I always thought if u did u took insulin…so it is taking a time to sink in.
You are doing great…keep up the good work…and do enjoy the holidays..will be eating turkey with u…

I hope so, sometimes it is a bit overwhelming…I went to nursing school, and there was maybe one oral med used for diabetes…and I never thought much about it…and my aunt was a juvenile diabetic and back then there was one type of insulin, so I thought to be diabetic, you had to take insulin…
Can be very good at denial..lol
Love to cook too, so I am learning how to do it right…husband losing weight, daughter losing..I am losing…and cheaper groceries..good things do come out of this.
Thank you for writing…it was very nice of u

It does feel good…I just had so much hit in the last six months…the brain was on over load…was in hospital, dad died, diabetes, my 22 yr old nephew died…and I stood in the middle of the living room and went hey, wait a minute…was kind of fighting on all fronts…but life is for the living…and I love it, and dad would not want us sad, and I have had things as big as diabetes to go against and I at least went head to head…I am short but I am mighty…lol
You take care too…and a hug and smile to u..
