I was told by a wise man that the reason there is not a cure for Diabetes is There is no money in the cure. The money is in the treatment. He also told me that a cure had been found many years ago and has been supressed. Has anyone ever heard this? Do you feel we are the victims of of money grabbing companies.

A cure would be worth more money than any drug or treatment has ever made in history. It would make the money made on treatment look like pocket change. 366,000,000 people worldwide with diabetes at the extremely low cost of $1000 per person would make the company $366,000,000,000. In reality a cure would be 5-10 times the cost. Plus another 50 of that over the the likely 10 year patent period for new cases makes it a pretty good little earner for whoever comes up with it.

The lawsuits against anyone supressing a cure would probably cost about the same.

Yes, a cure would be worth more to myself and the millions suffering from this disease. However, I am sorry to inform you of the cost of todays meds for a todays diabetic. I was going to get the pump at a cost of over $6000 and a cost of nearly $600 per month for supplies. Sorry. I don't know where you get your figures from but you are wrong. My calculation are well above your estimates. The money is in the treatment as I and many others are are aware of not the cure.

I would not be one bit surprised. I think there is a lot of that type of things going on. People with money and power tend to be corrupt in one was shape or form. Look at what they do get busted on, if those little things are happening, who is to say that there is not bigger stuff going on.

I don't know this as a fact, but i would not be surprised one little bit!

I have been active on DC for about 3 years, Charles, and I have heard things like that several times.

The one that surfaces most frequently of late is the so called "Nigerian cure".

Every time I tried to track the rumors back to their sources I come up with a dead end. There are people who claim the Nigerian cure story was bogus and was an attempted scam, versus those who claim the veracity of the story.

I know that Big Pharma makes a lot of money on diabetes and I can understand why people target them. And I am NOT saying that some of the stories aren't true.

But the situation is what it is. And if I want to maintain my health I do what I can to maintain and hopefully improve it. If I was confident a story about a cure is true and Big Pharma covered it up, there's nothing I can do about it. I don't think that even the government can compel them to give it up.

So I continue to manage my diabetes the best way I can (which right now is managed by my eating plan — no diabetes meds of any kind) and not let it poison my life with bitterness over a "cure" which may never have been and is not now available.

If people in Big Pharma have quashed a cure, there is One Righteous Judge before which those folks will have to appear at the end of their lives, and HE ALREADY knows the answers! The Bible says " It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." NKJV Hebrews 10:31

Blessings to you and yours, Charles!

AMEN! Heaven help those if they have squashed a cure and made millions suffer when they didn't need to. I would not want to be in their shoes before the Lord. I'm already in enough trouble!! LOL

I've said and done plenty of things which would save me a seat in the nether regions of hell, but Jesus paid the penalty for us all. Those of us who believe what He did for us are assured of eternal life in heaven. Of course someone so rich and powerful to as to pull off a quashing of a cure is generally speaking, too proud to rely on someone else for salvation. (if it really did happen)
