I have been having alot of pain in my finger and thumb on both hands, pain in my hips and my feet. It's more of an ache and some burning. My doctor tested me for lupus and RA. Both were negative and my A1C went up. She thinks the pain in due to my diabetes not being controlled. It feels like arthritis. Does diabetes really cause this kind of pain? Why? I'm very frustrated and want to scream right now.

I have osteoarthritis in my hips which showed on x-ray. My shoulders started hurting as badly as my hips too. Just over 2 weeks ago I started taking Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM three times a day. I seldom have pains in either area now and when I do it is very little.
The pain in your hands could be neuropathy or many other things such as Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. I take Borage Oil for my carpel tunnel but it is also high in Omega 6 (GLA). Here is a great site that talks about it, of course they will sell you some. http://www.nutritionresearchcenter.org/health...
I used to buy mine at Walmart but they are out of it most of the time and found that Puritan Pride (online) has it for less. Borage also helps with PMS and Menopause.
Christy I really recommend trying both of these supplements for at least a month. With both I saw relief in less then 2 weeks.
God bless,
Mary

Howdy Christy!

My bride "Jem" had Lupis (SLE) & RA and fibromyalgia when she was alive.

She was Dx'd with SLE before I was in her life, but I remember that she said that they had to test her repeatedly because the SLE didn't show up the first few times. So just the fact that SLE may not have been detected doesn't mean that you doh't have it. (Do you have the bite - like "wolf bite" — white pimple like things or the reddish "butterfly" cheeks?

It was like that with her and her RA also. She had RA for a while before it would show up on her tests.

I have pain and discomfort due to my diabetes, but my pain is burning like pain from my knees to my toes from diabetic neuropathy.

I think I also may have fibro pain. My ribcage feels like I have been worked over and I ache.

There are a lot of reasons you could be having the pain all over. Your A1c and BG levels may well be affected by the pain you are feeling.

I pray you and your Drs can find what is causing your pain and be able to get it under control.

James

Unfortunately yes. It may not be all from diabetes though. Sitting in bad chair at work caused my sacrum to twist and huge pain in my hips.
After really hard physical therapy, its better. It hurt worse after therapy for a while but now the pain is gone. It affected my knee, my walk and I felt horrible while working it and healing. I do find that the pain and the burning subsided when my blood sugar got into control. If you do things repetitively like text or type that can contribute as well
