Since the football season is coming to an end we are planning as of now our Superbowl Party. My Steelers still have a chance. They won yesterday and are one of the 4 teams left to be at the Super Bowl…

Judy you are sooooooooo right. I could take some leaves right now, as long as they are not white. That last storm that came through yesterday kept my husband plowing all day, and a 21/2 hr comute home last night. Hopefully by this weekend at least the streets will be clear. Have to get out on the weekends and walk at the mall for exercise before the shoppers get there, then do some cooking for the husband.

I'm very happy that you now have wheels. I'm not allowed to drive with the fentanyl. In Oregon they take away your license. So I have to wait until my husband or friends will drive. My van is beautiful but big so no one but my husband likes to drive. It a bumer as I have driven for years. So get in that car and have fun.

This weekend we are going to start our decorating for Christmas. My brother and cousins will hang the lights outside and get the yardwork done. My cousins and I have an assembly line to do pumpkin rolls. I guess the have like 46 orders so far…Its just fun doing this all together. We will again do this after Thanksgivingand start Christmas ccokies. It keeps me busy…Debe

I LOVE pumpkin rolls and I don't know how you can make so many without eating them!! I could just sit with a big spoon and eat the filling alone!! OK, well I wouldn't, but I sure would if I could!! There are certain sweets that I really miss eating and pumpkin rolls are one of them. :(

Marion, I used to like pumpkin rolls. When I started dialysis I wasn't allowed pumpkin because it was very high in potassium. If you think the diabetic diets are tough do the renal diet. To me a dietabetic diet is normal compared to renal diet…you really have to give up alot on itand very little fluid intake…Debe

I wasn't going to answer this one. lol But since lots of people already think that I am a nut, I'll answer. On weekends, I go "ghost hunting."

sparkysmom 2008-11-03 07:37:05 -0600 Report

KEWL! Are you in a group or just you. Do you have that equipment I see on TV's Ghost Hunters? How do you decide where to go? I would LOVE to go.

I had a good weekend. My niece was in a soccer tournament. They won the Campionship. It is so nice to see 11-12 yr olds celebrate. You would of thought the won a million dollars in the look of their eye. They got a nice trophy and the parent will get together and have a spagetti dinner next Saturday. It was so fun and the weather held up fine this weekend…debe

I don't do anything special. Maybe a trip to walmart and ride the buggies to get what I need. I can't walk very far without sitting down. Then we stop at Zaxbys for chicken strips not ever time but sometimes. WE try to find a good movie on tv—boring. I am to young to feel this d==n old.

"Im too young to feel this old"

I have not started yet, but I plan on doing Yoga and Palates. I heard that they are wonders for rejuvenating achy bones and such. This is one of the reasons why I plan on including these into my new daily regiments—also known as my life altering plan, as I plan on altering my current situation for the better. Hopefully, this new plan will allow me to look, feel and live as though I was younger.

Jared, Just a little note to share with you. I lived in Minnesota for 15 years, in Bloomington. I went to Olson elementary school and high school. My bestfriend was Jimmie Marshall, daughter of Jim Marshall, quaterback for the Vikings.(I believe it was quaterback, correct me if I'm wrong) Yes, the very one that ran the wrong way into his own end zone thinking he scored a touchdown. He was already done playing football by the time his daughter and I became friends. But I did get to spend alot of time with him and his family and they are really people. Just felt like sharing since you mentioned the Vikings.

He was actually a defensive end. He was a member of the Purple People Eaters. That is pretty cool though. I went to school with John Randle's step son.

This weekend is the Rock and Roll San Antonio Half Marathon. I am getting so ready for this. I am hoping to run it in under 2 and a half hours.

JaredLahti 2008-11-16 15:40:21 -0600 Report

I ran the San Antonio Half Marathon along with 33,000 other runners today. I finished in a time of 2:32. I feel really good, a little bit sore and unsure of whether I will be ready for the Austin Marathon in February. I have a lot of work to do to be ready, but I think it is possible.

apanda 2008-11-19 07:44:13 -0600 Report

Way to go Jared!!! Great job. I admire anyone that can do a marathon. Congrats on your time too.

Saturdays are our days to pay bills around town, lately we have been taking puppy to the park. Counts as my exercise time also. Usually, we go out to eat. Yesterday was mexican. Watched the Nationwide Nascar race, in the afternoon. Did some house purging by going through drawers and getting rid of junk. Taking 2 bags of magazines to the Doctor's office for the lobby and exam rooms. Today is Sunday. Hubby is working, daughter is on a date for breakfast so I am on here catching up and then will watch the Nascar race and do some laundry. It is so nice here have opened all the windows for some fresh air.

Weekends are my day to relax. I got up and did my walking, ate breakfast and straightend my house. This afternoon I am planning on "playing" with beads. Jewelrymaking is my new and very addicting hobby. I already did my cooking for the weekend…wedding soup and low carb eggplant parmesan, so all I have to do is heat things up when I am ready to eat. It's an easy day around here for me.

Deedy 2008-11-02 19:49:09 -0600 Report

I love wedding soup would you mind sharing your recipe?

I have never eaten eggplant parmesan before; what is it similar too? I would like to try that too; especially if its low on sugar, carbs, and fats. You know, all of the no, no's.
