I just found out about the recall on alcohol pads cuz we just ran out. I never even seen it on tv or posted in stores so we would know. Does anyone know if they are still making the pads with Benzocaine? Can't find them anywhere. My daughter loves them.

I think Jeanie, the recall was in 2009 or 2010 and the pads seemed to cause a shingles-like infection. I beileve it was a particular brand of pad manufactured by Triad. Here is the discussion about the time the recall was in effect. There's a link in that discussion which takes you to a govt site which tells about the recall. Here's the link to that discussion: http://www.diabeticconnect.com/discussions/98...

Can't find them either. Adult Orajel has Benzocaine - 20 % Oral Pain Reliever in it. Maybe use your regular alcohol swab and then put a droplet of Orajel on the skin. If it can go in the mouth it can go on a finger. Contact the makers of the product you buy and see when the recall will be over and can you order it directly from them. Good Luck!
