i am feeling a little better now i am getting used to the no milk ( not really) even tho its been only 2 days, i drink rice milk which tastes like poop but its white and looks like milk lol. i was talking to a friend on facebook he is a nutritionist and he told me to try this paste it will bring up my glutahione in my liver and will help my body repair itself. so i am gone try it what do i have to lose? doctors only give you treatment not a cure so if this works which i think it will than the better for me! and it is all natural too so if anyone wants more info you can send me a message :)

Try Silk's unsweetened almond milk. It really is creamy and a good substitute for real milk. I even like it in my cereal.

my problem is i cant have nuts especially almonds high in phosporus so i dont think almond milk is a good choice, thats why i drink rice milk it has 21 g of carbs per 8 oz and 10 g of sugar but better than milk

Can you drink soy milk? I drink Silk brand soy milk and that tastes fine.

really beans (except green beans) are off the observant CKD meal plan. I hadn't asked about soymilk. I'll have to ask Mickey/CCHT about that. She works as a dialysis tech.

actually the beans have a lot of phosphorus in them and phosphorus is hard for the kidneys to clear from the bloodstream. (what I have been told)

I am interested in that too. I sent you an email with a link to You might want to go through that and check what may help your kidneys revitalize themselves.

As far as the rice milk, I haven't used it, and don't know about the taste, but I wonder (haven't really looked at the nutrition label) whether it has many carbs like rice does.

I have found that just drinking water is the best and safest course. My GFRs have improved. 14% 2 months ago, versus 20% recently. I plan to follow a menu plan to improve my kidney function, even if that means I will need to return to the use of insulin for a while. I haven't yet worked out my plan but will let folks know when I do.

Blessings to you and yours
