My blood sugar keeps dropping after my spin class. Yesterday my blood sugar was over 200 and I still turned my basal rate down to 50% for my class, afterwards I was 59. After a good sized dinner I was still having problems and dropped again to 57 at 1:30 am. Any suggestions?

If my blood sugar is 130 to 150 I have to eat before bed or i will be to low in the AM so i have a half od a peanut butter sandwich,(my favorite) and it gives me the boost I need throughout the nite.

The trick is that your body uses the sugar out of our system when you exercise without the aid of insulin. That means that your body, even after you are finished, is still sucking in that glucose. I don't know how long it lasts, but maybe you want to take your spin class earlier so that it doesn't threaten a drop at night.

Also the suggestions that heather offered are very good. Test while you are experimenting and see how it works out for you.

eat carbs before you exercise. you may have to cut your class in half, take your bloodsugar and go from there. And eat before you go to bed. I was told to eat at least 30 mins before bed.
