I haven't been posting here much lately so I wanted to wish you all a very happy Halloween. I'm sitting here waiting for the kids to come take the temptation in a pumpkin away from me, in layman's terms I'm handing out candy this year.
And I got to thinking about a way to enjoy a candy filled holiday that won't wreck my numbers and I remembered my favorite gummy worm recipe.
This recipe can be sugar free or not and no one will know unless you tell them.
* 3 envelopes unflavored gelatin
* 2 packages sugar-free jello, any flavors
* 1 cup boiling water
* 1 package Kool-Aid, any flavor (optional)
Combine all ingredients until dissolved.
Pour into an 8x8 pan, lightly sprayed.
Refrigerate until firm.
Cut into"worm-like" strips or pour into shallow molds (Be careful it's hot!)
These are almost no carb and no one can tell they are sugar free so they are good for everyone. I normally make a double batch that doesn't last very long at the hands of my family but I assume they hold up in the fridge as long as any other jelly mold type dish. I'm going to use my silicon pirate ice cube trays to make them tonight to make them a little more scary. :)
