Myths article…Eating too much sugar will cause you to get diabetes?? Really?? Lets move into the 20th century folks. While the article makes some attempt to justify this myth it really is quite irresponsible. Being overweight will make you get diabetes? Again, not necessarily true. There are millions of overweight people out there who will never develop diabetes. I agree that a healthy diet is important for everyone. I also think it is as important to use current information to educate, not archaic scare tacticsl Take a look at the ADA's article on Top 10 diabetic myths, posted on this same site, and you'll find a complete contradiction to statements made regarding this subject. Please do not allow others to give you bad information about this disease. Its hard enough to manage as it is without the additional work of separating good information from bad.

I agree the article isn't great but what you reference are the myths the article is talking about, the article isn't saying they are facts.

I will agree that I may have reacted strongly to the content, but I don't think they did a good enough job refuting the myths. You can't just provide the myth and leave it at that. There needs to be some "mythbusting" in the article or it just magnifies the myth and can lead someone to believe the myth. I think it is irresponsble to to be as ambiguious as they were in their comments.
