Being diagnosed can surely throw you for a loop and I think each of can understand the fears, feelings and frustrations. The key thing is to focus on a healthier lifestyle with regards to food and exercise and keeping your eyes on control. The doctors are there for the medical side and we are here for the support and emotional side of what you have, are and will go through. I've "met" some of the nicest people here that have helped answer some questions that I thought were crazy ones, always with genuine concern and honesty. Please put us in the loop on how you make out and join us in our quest to be happier and healthier people. Hugs!

First off, Welcome to the DC family! This site is terrific for finding information, support, or even just a place to vent. There is alot of wonderful people here to reach out too. This whole process is scary! I was in denial for a whole year. I just couldn't face it! I had just lost my mother very suddenly, then found out just a couple of months later that her father, my grandpa, had an inoperable brain tumor. He was gone just a few months later! So i just stuck my head in the sand! So i consider myself new also, having just joined about a month ago. It's good that you will be speaking with your doc. Something helpful is if you can meet with a dietician or a nurtrionist. They will be helpful in figuring out the foods you need to eat and the ones you need to stay away form. Learn to read your labels. They can be tricky. If you just roam this site, you will find many tips, and probably alot of ?'s you can take to your doc. Make sure you have a list so all your ?'s can get answered. Good luck to you and God Bless, Mickey
