Do you have trouble sleeping at night? If so, have you discovered the problem? What helps you to sleep better?

I've been reading myself to sleep for 60 years. I have never taken a sleeping pill. I do, however, occasionally read until dawn.

I use Unisom…have tooo much on my plate and worry too much is why I cant sleep

Sometimes I will have problems that way and sometimes my ADHD makes my mind go into hyperdrive. I don't have to work so I just get up when that happens and play spider solitaire on my laptop until my mind gets tired and I get drowsy.

My wife said I snored so loud in the past that she had to invest in a supply of ear plugs. I didn't believe a word of it, thought she was dreaming! Then, I woke up a couple of times out of breath. That had me thinking, maybe something is wrong after all. I went to a pulmonary specialist who sent me too a sleep lab. The results, I have sleep apnea. The lab said I woke up about 60 times in the 1st hour after going to bed and falling asleep. I had no idea or memory of waking! So now I sleep with a mask and a big tube protruding from the mask over my headboard. The good thing about all this is, I no longer snore, I can achieve rem sleep because I started dreaming again, and I feel very safe!!! If a burglar breaks into the house while I'm sleeping, sees my mask with the big tube sticking up into the air and the rest of my paraphernalia No doubt hell get scared and run out!
Seriously, I do sleep much better, and I have much more energy during the day.

I take melatonin but 3 mg didn't work for me so I talked with the doctor & he has me on 9mg. Seems like it is starting to help. Now instead of 2-3 hrs of sleep I am up to 5-6 hrs…I'm a happy camper…Good Luck

I use Natural Calm from the health food store. It relaxes me and quiets my restless leg syndrome. A bit pricey but it last 2 months.

I usually don't have trouble falling asleep, but sometimes my ADHD brain kicks into overdrive, and I can't shut it down. Nights like that I just go with the flow and either spend most of the night on DC or other connect sites, OR I will try to stop my mind by doing something rather mindless and boring like play spider solitaire until I get drowsy.

I have tried the Melatonin also, and sometimes it works for me and sometimes not. I don't know why i have this problem, what i do know is sometimes i can't shut off my brain! Wish i could put it on the shelf for the night sometimes! Good Luck!

Yes. I can usual point to some caffeine or sugar too late in the day. I often drink sugar free or Stevia Tea and forget that is has caffeine in it. I no longer have kids to tend to, so one of the things I do is i pull out a 5 gallon bucket, flip it over, and look at the stars. Now the lights are all off in the house and there is rarely any ambient light, so it is pitch black, until your eyes adjust and you see millions of pinpoints of light. Last night, it was clear with a full moon. One dog with her head on my lap getting scratched the other at my feet, resting. it does not get much better than that. If I didn't need my cpap machine, I probably stayed put for the night.

Sounds lovely! I just love it when the moon is full and super huge and bright! Not to mention if it's an orange moon! It's so cool! Ever see any falling stars?

I really have trouble sleeping so i talked to my pharmacist she told me to try Melatonin 3mg dietary supplement,that and a hot shower with a cup of hot tea,I sleep like a baby
