Here is one from my days in the weight room…Green Tea with Lemon!
This has been a secret of body builders for years to help jumpstart the body's metabolism (speed it up) and help you to lose weight:

My suggestion is for you to brew (or seep) your own daily, at least you will know the "true" ingredients of the product that you are consuming!

Tea's.. I use to drink lots of coffee.. Now I only have 1 or 2 a day.. maybe 3.. but that's very odd. I now also try to drink lots of water, But lately have been drinking different tea's like Green tea, or Pu-erh which gives me energy, and helps with weight loss. Also White Tea is good for Diabetes, and Oolong tea is good for weight loss and diabetes. Black tea is good for your breathing.

heather, you are not going to like my answer. Personally I don't like any other sugar. I did love Splenda, but after heavy research, decided it was terribly bad. My one sin was PEPSI. I am totally convinced that is what brought about my diabetes. I had it practically every day - more than a can a day - for more than 30 years. It catches up. Stay away from your sweet tea!!!! maybe HALF a glass 2 or 3 times a week — BUT NO MORE! You need to find another drink. I now buy flavored water is an alternative. No sugar or artificial sweeteners added to it. They come in black cherry, orange manderine, lemon lime flavors. I am not talking about flavored seltzer water. Sure I have my pepsi (4 oz) once in a while, but we need to get control of our desires.

Have you tried adding aguave nectar instead of sugar?? It's low in carbs and sugars but it may be closer to your sweet tea taste!!

Sun tea 5 bags of red rose tea water and a few hours in the sun. I add fresh spearmint from my plant. Darn plant wants to take over my whole garden. Anyway tea has lots of tannic acid in it. I can only drink a few cups or with food. It only lasts a few days and needs sun. If I have any addictions at all it would be sun tea.

I am interested in this too and have read the comments. I am trying to get into drinking green tea, since it has all these health benefits, but I do not know which kind tastes the best, and the ones I have tried so far, I really do not like. But I do like regular tea better. I will search until I find one that hopefully I will like.

Hi. Check out the organic varieties. I think green tea has been the best so far, and I usually throw a packet of Splenda in, too. Good luck!

Bigelow Lempn tea is very good. I add it to Earl Grey to cut the bitterness. Can use them when cooking too (Peppermint, Raspberry, Orange, etc.). Aren't green teas just infused with more caffeine? Wish the stores would carry more decaf flavors! Have to watch ingredients in herbal teas, lots of allergies…

Kayla: It's funny we drink the samething morning and night. Made LOL… :-) I thought I could be of some help…but it looks to me some many of the community on DC drink the same thing as we do. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Until later, Sincerely, Valentine Lady

I just saw on TV today that Green Tea is also recommended to reduce the chance of Breast Cancer. I drink Decaff, sometimes with lemon, or lime. Since I don't drink coffee or soda, the caffeine would keep me up for a week!

Let us know if you turn green like elphaba the wicked witch of the west. Yes that was her first name according to Gregory Mcguire. (hint (you are way to cute to be a witch)

Mickey/CCHT 2011-10-18 22:38:28 -0500 Report

I never heard that about the blueberries! Do you just throw some in when it's steeping? Or does it come like that? Would love to know, i wanna try it!

Check out the tea section at your local grocer. There are several companies that have tea sampler packages. I like the Yogi brand, because most of them need no added stuff to taste good. Yogi teas can usually be found in the whole foods section.

I drink Chai , love the spiceness. It helps with some of those cravings. I make it with skim milk and truvia.

My Rolfer suggest green tea and/or white tea. something to do with free radicals and antioxidants.

I have a bottle of Crystal Light Green Tea on my desk as I go through my water plant report and try to find a 3 gallon mistake. Soon, I will add Vodka to it and see if that helps!

Did you know that 5 plus 3 equals 8, and not 5? Of course it was on the 28th of the month! Time to go out and do my spraying for stink bugs and Asian beetles. You should be glad you have not moved this far east, but don't worry, they are coming your way.

I miss the boxelder bugs. Have not seen them here for about 2 years. Glad you have the stink bugs, wouldn't want you to miss out! The Asian beetles look like the beneficial lady bug, but are destructive.
