Newly Diagnosed type 2 and learning :)

So after being Diagnosed with Type 2 just a couple days ago . I had pretty high numbers . Got the knack of the poking and checking, and watching the amount of food intake and what I eat. My numbers have dropped to what they are suppose to be. :)
Will be getting the blood work back for Cholestrol today. Then will be registered for a Nutritional class. Can't wait on that!!!
Even though I was Angry, scared, and down right pissed off , when I was Diagnosed the other day. I guess everyone deals with it differently. I had a bunch of questions for my Doctor. she answered them all and gave me encouragement.
I was hoping that the Diabetes would skip me. I had been Hypoglocemic all my life. My Moms side of the family is pretty much all either Brittle, type one or type 2 . It was just a matter of time before it caught up to me in life.
But I'm grabbing it by the tail and going for the ride and I will do what needs to be done . Instead of whinning and crying and screaming OMG why meeee??
Pull the big girl panties up so high I get a wedgie and move on with it. Eventually that wedgie will work itself out :)
It's still very new to me. and I'm still learning of course because this is so very new to me.
If anyone has any tips to throw my way with what they went through when Diagnosed and what they did to do the right thing, that would be awesome!
It is a life changing disease. and I'm all about change and doing the right thing with it.
I know excersise is a big thing. I live in Alaska and I don't get out to walk much , thinking about getting a tread mill , being it is almost time for the snow to fly here. I think that might help!

Take up skiing :) I was diagnosed type2 about 2 weeks ago. I was angry only because I have been pre diabetic for 15 years and was hoping i nipped it in the bud. Oh well you are right we just have to deal with it. right now I am not allowed to exercise but only because I have lost too much weight too fast 19 lbs in 17 days. But I was riding an exercise bike 15-20 mins 3-4 times a week.
