Man some people know how to push my buttons. Some people seem fake and dont seem genuine. Sorry to be so blunt but it's true. Am I really in your prayers or are you just saying that?

We can all complain about something:
For example, you say "Man some people know how to push my buttons." Since we don't know who or where you are, don't know what "buttons" you have and have no desire to "push" them, this is clearly psychological progression. You also state, "Some people seem fake and don't seem genuine." This statement is merely a redundancy. You later state, "sorry to be so blunt, but it's true."

It doesn't seem to be true to many of us. There are a variety of ages and experiences here. Some suggestions are helpful, others have not proved to be useful to me. At an absolute minimum, contributions were offered.

Rather than merely condemn or criticize members of this site, there are any number of gaming sites where your communications may be acceptable. With all due respect, this is a site for people with health conditions, you may want to locate one for people with other conditions.

I still wish you the best with your health and hope you change your perspective for your own good.

After reading your post I said a prayer for you. You sound angry and it would seem that there is an underlying issue for which you need to vent. I have not come across anyone fake on this site…this isn't Facebook. We are a community of family and friends fighting the same illness. We are here to encourage and uplift one another. You have the free will to chose your friends and if you honestly meet someone that you allow to put you in a bad space…delete them. I welcome you to this site and hope that you will come to know that I (people) sincerely care. Be encouraged!!!

Don’t be so cynical riqu-elsk-yy. It is wonderful that people will tell you that you’re in their prayers even if only to comfort. I happen to pray for people and I will pray that you won’t be so cynical. I’ll pray for you like I do for all those who are diabetic like us.
You sound like you have bigger issues than are people being real. You need to search yourself to find out what truly is the problem which may very well be that you are not over denial.
We are all real people coping with a malevolent disease. We carry each other. Sometimes I need to be carried and other times I am the carrier. I hope you will accept us and join us. Diabetes is a heavy load to carry alone.

Well stated Uncle Lew. This site is a God send! And like you, if i say i'm praying for someone, you better believe that is the case. I don't say it if i don't mean it. But people are going to believe what they want. As long a one is true to themselves and with God, then everything is good. Ok, gonna get off my soapbox now! LOL Take care, God Bless

I can't speak for anyone else but when I say your in my prayers you are. If I say I am going to pray for you I do. You should not lump every one in one pile. Just glad to know that I am an honest person. For me that is all I need to know. God Bless!

Only YOU can control if people "push your buttons". Take back control of you-don't allow others' to "push your buttons!"

Is there something specific that happened? We are always on watch for things that are not proper and if you are having any troubles, please let us know. We want the site to be welcoming for all who enter.

I do have to admit that written words sometimes don't come out as well as a verbal conversation and misunderstandings can abound.

It would seem by your post you have no faith in others doing what they say. Thus far the replies I have read shows otherwise. Nothing childish or playing games here. We are the "REAL DEAL" meaning I myself know who is honest and sincere by what they posted. I deal with other websites where you can see this real deals or not. Pushing your buttons while you admittedly are in denial is going to tick you off. Accept what you have, learn from those of us wanting to help you as we help ourselves, and thus you become proactive and positive on your life and others at the same time. Now tis a choice and only you can choose it. Personally I didnt want diabetes but I do have it. Now I have the choice to allow it to control my life or I control it. This website is a rare one where we can some here vent, ask for help, and support. Where we can get it actually from others dealing with the same things. So if we are focusing on helping others and thus keeping ourselves accountable for what we do, how is that not a GOOD thing? Also knowing that there are others out there supporting, helping and cheering us on our journey makes a world of a difference. I hope this helps as it was meant too. Have a great day!:)

I help out at my church and one of the main things I do, is edit the prayer list, adding people, and taking away those that are recovered from sickness, surgeries, etc.. I firmly believe in the power of prayer and when I say I am praying for someone I mean it. This is a part of my daily life. I was brought up this way.

I think my Higher Power chose me to PRAY for others. Some are appointed, some are chosen for other things. Keep up the good work-keep on praying!

I admit, I can be prickly at times. But, I'm also old enough to accept that not everyone will like me. DC is a wonderful forum for all ideas and opinions and we won't all agree with them. If the posts make us step back and evaluate our own experience it is enlightening. We just need to be civil and considerate in our disagreements. In many ways, the various posts have made me realize that my 35+ years with diabetes have been easier than what many others are coping with…something to be thankful for.

I have been on this site for a month now and found that all I have been in contact with are sincere, loving, understanding and informative. I have no one to be fake at all, espically me. Your comment pushed my buttons and that doesn't happen very often. But, to each his own. Valentine Lady

I have found this site to be a God send and i do not say that lightly, I was in denial for a year and when my body sent me a wake up call i decided to get serious and found this website. It is wonderful. Maybe there is some people like that but all the people i have chatted with all seem to geniunly care about one another. I posted my problem and got SO many great tips and wonderful support that i don't know what i would do without this site. I have a saying, the only one that can make me sad is me, the only one that can make me happy is me. I WILL NOT allow someone to have the power to bring me down.

Marytea 2011-10-18 09:27:17 -0500 Report

Why do you give anyone so much power over your life as to let them push your buttons? Like Mewella and others, I believe too much in the power of prayer to say it lightly.I have found this site to be supportive and kind with a few people making some pointed remarks. I just keep the good and let go of the rest.

Sorry you feel that way. Sounds like some uncaring person has done a number on you. So far I find the people on this site very caring. We are here to support one another and help each other however we can. Make friends and don't be too critical. We are all ordinAry people with the same problem.

I feel so blessed to have found this site. I don't remember how i found it, but I have thanks to God that I did. Several people have helped me here and now I am helping someone else. I am in my own category with diabetes but still find the information I need.

Adding to yours Dixiemom…we are all human & do get a lil snippy at times, & most probably don't mean to. We all just need to be patient with each other…
Hugs to all.

When I say to anyone I will pray for you I do I call my mother-in-law and she puts people who names I give her and those names go on a prayer list so that alot of more people are praying for those who are on that list.

I to am going to be blunt as well, I took the time to read all of your postss an came to two conclusions, you are still in denial and expect a miracle cure or and I hope this is not the case, you are acting juvenile and just playing with us.

riquelskyy 2011-10-17 12:40:46 -0500 Report

Yeah I'm still in denial but don't expect a miracle to happen. I'm still young and have a lot to learn and there's still room for growth. I'm not acting juvenile nor playing with you guys.

You are in my prayers Alana! I also can't speak for anyone else. I believe that prayer is the most powerful thing that a Christian is able to do, because we're calling on God to get involved in a situation. Of course just asking God in prayer does not mean we automatically get that for which we pray. God in His wisdom could grant the request, or say "No, I have something better for you", or "wait a while"

i'm not likely to be offering prayers i beleive we need to make our own answers if there is a higher power they chose to place us where we are so we might as well scurry like ants and hope we are entertaining enough to make the next season of the show

well, when I add someone to my prayers I actually do it. I firmly believe in the power of prayer. Not sure about others I can only answer for myself. :) I try to give my best advice and that is all I can do.

tabby9146 2011-10-19 09:20:54 -0500 Report

same with me. I am a Christian and as a Christian, prayer is a daily part of my life. I have seen prayer work for many over the years. I really believe in the power of prayer. I am not afraid to say I am a Chrisitan. I respect those who are non-Christian as well, and I am not one of those who tries to push any of my beliefs on others.
