Yes, it would be nice not to have to keep track of my carbs and calories. But, that's my future from now on. I'm Type 2, since October 2009. What I miss the mosy is oodles of pasta and real ice cream. That's as honest as I can get… :-)

i understand that .how long have you known you known you been diabetic? me sense 2009 april. i realize when your type 2 you have your time to do what you wanted until it happens and should never take it for granted that you were able to do what you wanted as long as you could. but when that time comes you need give up things that aren't good for diabetes people.

Since I haven't really stopped eating anything, I can't miss it. I have been able to find healthier and lower carb substitutes for just about every recipe on my favorites list. I once had a craving for a cinnabon roll. I looked at the nutritional facts on the website and … UGH … I found that Jello makes a cinnamon roll sugar free pudding and that Atkins has an awesome cinnamon breakfast bar. I don't go without … I improvise!

I don't miss anything. The foods i use to eat make me feel awful now if glucose is either too high or low.

yep, there's nothing worse than experiencing highs or lows.Except one time in the middle of my daughter's birthday party and I got a low of 36 and I was so happy I got to have a piece of B day cake! but of course I overtreated it.

Ur right, it's a total drag having to count everything out. Understand the need for it, but it's no fun! I miss my tea and the occasional chocolate fix and i miss my chips and dip! Oh well…life goes on

Doughnuts—-the yeast-raised frosted with chocolate icing…still makes my mouth water just thinking of them! And cheese danish too! And I agree that counting carbs is a royal pain in the patootie but necessary to achieve good control.
