I have never been a person who is big on sweets, however I notice that when i'm massively stressed out I go right for the salty treats… How much more unhealthy is that from constantly eating sweets?

Hi Angel! I'm the same way i liked sweets ok, but my biggie was chips and dip and the like. I have found nuts are great at combating this. And you don't have to eat a whole bunch to get that urge to go away! I like pixiedust's suggestion. I love hummus and carrots(which are good for us), so i'm going to check that out. Good luck!

I find my cravings fall into two categories sweet and then…salty. Usually with the salty comes fat. Any chip, etc…has a high fat content along with the sodium. Start experimenting with seasoned treats like a garlic hummus with carrots. The key is to "keep" treats in your fridge all the time!

Howdy Angel! WELCOME to DC!

You might want to speak with your Dr about your craving for salt. It MAY posssibly be a sign of low sodium levels in your bloodstream. Only your Dr can order a blood test to measure that. If you are low on salt in your body then there is probably no damage being done.

You wanted to know how more unhealthy it is than eating sweets. Here is an article from Livestrong on the side effects consuming too much salt, and you can make your own judgment:

should you conclude that you are eating too much salt, here's something from Mayo clinic on reducing your salt intake:

As far as your question about which is more unhealthy, If someone consumes too much of ANYTHING it is unhealthy, (even too much water)! To try to set up a scheme as to which is worse is beside the point. Unhealthy is unhealthy and we are attempting to avoid that.

Praying that this helps you

Blessings to you and yours
