Hello Everyone! I'm new to post to this site though I've been actively reading your posts for a while now. I really appreciate the honesty and helpfullness of everyone here. I wanted to express a concern I have today and maybe hear from those of you that have "been there."
I am going in today for a cardiac stress test and though many of you may say it's no big deal I am quite worried. Here's why:
While I am only 35, my younger brother who is 32 recently had a major episode in which his heart stopped. He now has a stint and a defibrillator. What concerns me is that overall his health is much better than mine. His cholesteral numbers are perfect, no diabetes, not overweight, etc, etc.
Me on the other hand, well you know the drill, high bad cholesterol, low good cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes, overweight, etc, etc. We have a family history of heart disease and diabetes. My father died from CHF. His mother died from a massive heart attack. I think you all see where I'm going here. So, have any of you been through this and how did you deal with the anxiety? I would appreciate any of your support today! Thanks!!
