What Do You Do When You Are Not Hungry??

I don't know about any of you but! Many time I find that I am not hungury and I have to force myself to eat or my family do's I know that is one of the resans why I am over weight. So I realy can't put all the blame on the meds for my weight problems but that is one of my maine problems. Because I know that in oder to losse weight you have to eat food to burn of the fat. What do you do when you are not hungury and you know that you have to eat or your bs will drop and you will be in alot of trouble!

I am right there with you. My track record for eating is horrible…I would get up at 8 fix breakfast for my lil one, but I wouldnt eat anything until afternoon. I just wasn't hungry…but after I put that first bite of food in my mouth at say like 3 I wouldnt stop eating until I went to bed.

Now I still have a hard time eating breakfast, so I'll have a peice of bread with butter just to get something in my stomach for taking all my meds. Then low and behold I start to feel hungry again in about 2 hours…

Since I have been eating breakfast more on a regular basis I have actually lost 15 more pounds. It is hard to wrap my brain around that eating does help you lose weight, it's more about what I eat, then how much…

Like the others I try and eat 4-5 small meals a day. But some of the meals are just a little something like Laughing Cow cheese with 6 triscuits or an apple with a piece of string cheese. Or I really like the sugar free puddings or jello. There is Fiber one yogurt. or a handful of almonds or walnuts. How about a few carrots with fat free ranch dressing. It does not have to be a full meal. Or 1/2 peanut butter sandwich with a little milk. Or last night because it was cold here I made a cup of sugar free international coffee. It had some carbs and did not raise my sugar. I thought that maybe another time I would have it with a couple of cookies for an afternoon snack. And one thing I just love is the Campbells Soup at Hand. The creamy chicken is great. A little high in sodium and carbs but if that was all you felt like then so be it. People have to find what works for them. I sometimes feel like a mad scientist, expeimenting daily to see what will happen to my sugars. I have friends that eat the same thing every day. Yes their sugars are great but how boring. I like variety. Remember variety is the spice of life. OOOO- la-la. LOL

The thing is that you really don't have to eat a lot to keep your BG levels working. So if you are not hungry, but need a boost, choose carefully something that will give you the result you want without the full feeling. It can be as simple as a little trail mix or a bit of fruit with some cheese or peanunt butter. If you have small things easily avaiable around the house, that makes it easier too, because sometimes I find that I look for easy over healthy...not a good practice.
