I just read a blog article and they were showing myths about diabetic. One said about special food. Now this is how I look at it. We do have to eat very dif, than others. The food that is good for us to eat seams to be very high cost. We cannot eat allot of cheep stuf like pastas only some and not alot. Veg are high cost and so are lean meats. So though we do not have special diabetic list of food we are limited to what we can have and the cost comes in to play. And if we need to luse weight due to diabetic than that create's even higher cost.

We don't eat special foods we just eat the right amount of food and watch the amount of sugar and starch intake. I hope that helps you. Don't look at as a diet look at as a life plan a diet sounds so short and strict I would not want to be on one. I have always called it my life plan it sounds nicer. I just eat less than a normal person would I'm just as happy and still have my pasta too. I use oil oil not vegetable oil when I cook. I don't fry things I bake things. I would have changed this regardless because it is healthier for you. Yes vegetables cost a lot but eat what is in season they are cheaper that way. The same with fruit if you eat what is in season they will be cheaper. I'm sure you will see that when you are at the store. If you just watch what you eat you will see your sugar readings will be okay and so will your weight. I have pretty much followed this and have lost weight and my A1C's have been a 5 for over 7 years. Good luck and God Bless! If you need anything else please do ask.

Thank you! I just hate the waiting for the surgery, the screws have to be in for 18 months. That is the hardest part. Well that is good if the race is to help us to do better with our sugar test. I don't think I can do any better than I already am. I am hoping now that I lost weight and my sugar is totally under control if my doctor might take me off my medicine. Doubtful but I can dream. God Bless.

that is great mustangman60 I did leave that out and not because I am ignorant to it I guess I forget because I can no longer enjoy my walks. I use to walk every day until I broke my ankle and leg. Now my ankle is rejecting the hardware and it is very painful for me to even put on shoes. Some times I forget to mention that to people. Sorry I did leave that out you are right. I wish you luck on winning the 5 K! Hopefully once they do my surgery I'll be able to get back to my walking, which I miss very much. Have a great day. God Bless.
