I was going to stay quiet but have to say, my bio father was a satin worshiper and his wonderful friends loved halloween. And children suffered on this day as it is the day of special sacrafices I don't do my self and have no kids come out this way. But I gave prayed over tracks as I was and still am freaked by this day. Now I just pray all day. Sorry we all have to do what we have to do and I am not judging any one, Just how I grew up and never liked the halloween thing.

WE LIVE IN THE COUNTRY AND WE DON'T GET TRICK OR TREATERS. I HAVE MY GRANDSON AND STEP DAUGHTER AND WE DO UP LITTLE GOODY BAGS FOR EACH WITH FRESH FRUITS AND PRETZELS,POPCORN THINGS THAT ARE GOOD FOR YOU, NO CANDY. THEY GET ENOUGH OF THAT ELSEWHERE.

I LOVE HALLOWEEN DON'T GET ME WRONG, OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER ARE MY TWO MOST FAVORITE MONTHS OF THE YEAR, MY BIRTHDAY IS 4 DAYS BEFORE HALLOWEEN AND I LOVE TO DECORATE. MY SECOND WOULD HAVE TO BE CHRISTMAS. MY HUSBAND HATES MY 6'5'' CHRISTMAS TREE THAT GETS DECORATED AND THEN EVERYROOM IN THE HOUSE HAS CHRISTMAS THINGS IN THEM. I DID CRAFTS FOR CHRAFT SHOWS YEARS AGO AND DID THESE LITTLE 2' TREES WITH WHITE LIHTS AN RIBBONS AND MY DAUGHTER HAS ONE OF THEM NOW THAT SHE PUTS UP IN HER ROOM ON HER FILING CABNET AND DECORATES, WE TOOK THE RIBBON OFF OF IT AND BOUGHT LITTLE MINATURE ORNIMENTS AND SHE HAS A PINK STAR AND TREE SKIRT FOR IT. I FIGURE THERE IS NO SENSE BUYING CANDY WHEN YOU GET NO TRICK OR TREATERS SO I JUST DO UP LITTLE BAGS. I DO ONE FOR EACH OF MY SUNDAY SCHOOL KIDS TO.

We don't participate. We keep the porch lights off and hide in the back room of our house and watch a movie. We both grew up that if the porch light is off, to move on during Halloween - but people will still send their kids to the front door with the light(s) off. *eye roll* And as soon as the doorbell goes off, the dogs flip out. It is too stressful on them to deal with giving kids junk food.

I grew up in Philadelphia. One year we had 630 kids from 5 to 9. Mom and Dad were not rich, so after we were out for 30 minutes or so, we had to come back and dump our loot (6 kids) so they could continue to give out the goodies. The next year, my brothers and I took the basement door key with us and we would unload in the basement all the stuff we wanted, and brought the rest upstairs for redistribution. We just told Mom about it this year!
Now in the mountains of WV, anybody coming would be greeted by 2 large barking dogs and a small barking dog (our neighbor's dog who thinks he belongs to us) and a shotgun. We are on a dead end street that is about 3/4 mile long with only 3 full time residents on it.

We LOVE Halloween at our house! We do give out candy. For our neighbors and kids in the neighborhood we know, I try to have goodie bags made up just for them. We're also the one house in the neighborhood that makes their own haunted house in the garage. We go all out every year! Wouldn't have it any other way!

The one year I dress up as something, I don't remember, and sat in a chair by the garage. My daughters were too old to go out anymore so they manned the door. If I thought the kids were too old, I would move real quick and scare the beejeepers out of them!

LOL! We started out that way. Then every year we seemed to get more stuff and we'd add something new. Before we knew it, we had a full blown haunted attraction! We're in a new neighborhood this year, so we're curious to see how it goes!
