Since I was in foster my insurance was CCS and my supplies were mailed to me. Being in a group home they never gave me my supplies nor medicine. So all of it got piled up. When I left the system my insurance changed to Medi-Cal and they stopped mailing then to me and my insulin changed. So I have unopened:expired insulin and unused pen needles. What do I do with them?

Call the local hospital. Ours takes the needles in a heavy plastic container like a dry coffee creamer plastic container. Eastist thing, with its popup lid and all!… The isulin, I'd also try yjr local hospital to see how they dispose of their drugs. Cannot hurt but a phone call away, Grandpa Bill

Unfortunately, Alannah, the expired insulin is unusable and may well be dangerous if anyone tries to use it. It is best destroyed.

The pen needles can perhaps be used on unexpired pens. Is there a lo cost clinic near you which could use those needles?
