My mum comes in my room every morning, to check my blood sugar for me. Then I fall back to sleep. Well, yesterday it was 65. But is it strange that it can make you have dreams, even when you are awake? I can remember this dream, that it was just like a pink haze or something. Can it make you have dreams like that? When I finally woke up, I was shaky, and my legs were weak. I ate a poptart though with milk. But my legs are weak even after I eat. Do you have any suggestions I should I do for that?

Well you will have weakness with that low of a blood sugar reading but it should correct itself soon after treating it. As far as dreaming while youre awake, I do that and dont even have to be low for it to happen! Yes, low blood sugar can give you strange dreams, some say mostly nightmares.

Why dose low blood sugar do that to you with the dreams? I do feel better after the weakness in my legs. I just hate the feeling.

I honestly dont know and maybe even Drs dont know but you could always ask yours. Your brain is being deprived of glucose when you go low so maybe its your brains way of attempting to wake you up. There are other symptoms attributed to lows while asleep: sweating profusely, sleeping poorly, andwaking up unusually alert.
