I saw my endocrinologist two weeks ago and while my A1c was high, I explained it by telling her about my two shots of cortisone and my 10 day supply of prednisone. I'll see her again in 3 months instead of four months.

Tomorrow I am going for my four month checkup with my primary care physician. I think I am doing pretty well but would love to see the podiatrist as my two big toes hurt.

Howdy Matthew.

Great you are getting checked up.

One of the things I like to do when I go in for a check up is type out a sheet of questions for the Dr and print 2. I give one to the medical aid or nurse who checks me in and ask them to put it in my chart folder so Dr sees it when he looks it over. Then Dr gets time to think about any answer and research it a bit if he needs. I carry the 2nd sheet into the exam room with me to jog my memory, and to write down on that page what Dr's answer is. That way I can remember the info Dr tells me or instructions he gives.

I usually start another sheet for Dr when I get home and add to it as I have more questions.

I pray that you have a good and productive check up, and that all your numbers are trending the right way!

Great idea. I belong to Kaiser Permanente. In order to get an appointment with primary care physician, you must write an e-mail stating why you want the appointment. I list all my concerns. They get back to me within one day with either answers or appointment.
