After being totally sick for 3 days including a trip to ER, I am starting to feel better. Thing is I'm starving as I couldn't hold anything down those 3 days. Any suggestions on what to eat? I don't want to eat wrong just because I am so hungry. Been drinking green tea and ginger ale. This is the first time I have been really sick since being diagnosed.

maybe some whole wheat rice. aka brown rice, the rice will soak the infection. I also eat cottage cheese, it will make you feel full. you might not have to eat very much, a little will go a long way. Hope you feel better soon

Seems to be better today. Still tired but ate some scrambled eggs and toast with tea. It all stayed. YEAH!

I am a strong believer in the dry toast and crackers, to absorb the acids, and help settle your stomache. And maybe a diabetic friendly drink like gatorade that restores your electrolytes, so you don't drop all your levels and feel so crappy.

Even though normally we diabetics would not consider drinking a "normal" soda, a little bit of regular ginger ale is OK when you are sick and not able to keep anything down, especially if you are on insulin.

My Cardiologist doesn't like me drinking Gatorade because of the high sodium count. This stuff is nasty. I'm feeling better but not good yet. Still hard to eat.

Have you tried the new G-2 gator aide. It taste aloy better than gatorade. I use tomato juice and crackers for sick stomach this usually stays down for me.

I too do the dry toast and crackers. I unfortunately can't drink gatorade due to kidney problems. All those extra electrolytes are bad for me. I do drink a few little sips of regular gingerale every 1/2 hour though…

I saw that you had been drinking the ginger ale. Anything with ginger in it helpsthe stomach for me. Last time I got a stomach virus, I had a friend go to the store and buy me some sugar free gingerbread men. Those helped some and so did dry toast and just plain old tea.

I'm in the same predicament. I'm so sick to my stomach, I can't eat. My little baby granddaughter is also sick, and I fear I may have picked up the bug from her.

I found a little bit of low carb yogurt was okay - settled my stomach a bit. It stayed down when nothing else would.

This is the pits!

start small. Maybe some scrambled eggs and a slice of whole grain toast.
