Hello, This is Bonnie K. I have been having sharp lightning pains in the inside ankle bones, the other day I couldn't even walk it hurt so bad, It just started about 5 days ago. To top it off it turned black and blue. I did not injure t in any way, I do have fibromyalgia and neuropathy but I never had this before. It started like a sharp pain in that area and then it kept getting worse until I couldn't even step on my feet. It has gotten better but I am afraid it will return, Does anyone know what it is or how to prevent it. Yes I am heavy so maybe that makes it worse. Help.

I agree with James, it is best to visit your doctor. Any number of things can happen and does. I have an old pair of crutches in my basement and it sounds like you might benefit from a pair if you do not have some. When you have an injury like this you should avoid putting any weight on that foot and see your dr as soon as the problem starts. I would not even recommend heat or ice until a dr has examined it.

I am sorry Bonnie that you are experiencing that. At first I would have guessed neuropathy. Did it occur on both ankles at once, or did one ankle start up and then the other? There are a number of things which MIGHT cause that. But as I am not a physician I will avoid diagnosing and ask you to go to a Dr.

Some of what I thought it might be is the beginning charcot foot, which some People with Diabetes get. OR it could be Lupis, or RA

Please get it checked out, Bonnie
