Dancing in Life

Just had to do this…For I know how I get when I am upest, depressed and feeling overall lonely and miserable.
Get Up and Dance!
Now I know some of you may not be able to due to other issues on your health. Yet you must get POSITIVE! You must get HAPPY! You must be SILLY as heck. Why? Cause something can change within you if you do. You can sick on the log and be miserable or get up whether in mind or body and do something. Yes our health issues can rule supreme. Yes it can affect your mood, and life. Yet are you tired of being sad, mad, frustrated, ticked off, scared, and lonely? Well if you are, you now have a CHOICE. Maybe not with regards to your health issue you are facing and dealing with, but your ATTITUDE does help to make an impact on all of that. You can say hmm what can I do to find something to smile or laugh about? Or you can do nothing. I personally find it uplifting and sometimes down right silly and funny, to act out of character. Yet for me my character is borderline silly LOL Greatest thing is to say Today isnt a good day and tomorrow doesnt look good either. LOL Put on so music and dance. OR wiggle in your bed or chair if you cant do that. Even better make funny faces at yourself! LOL Why? Cause its fun and its better than the alternatives! So find something to be HAPPY about or FUNNY!

This is fantastic. A lesson for alll of us. We all need to have more fun and even to be silly once in awhile! Laughter is a great medicine.

Thank you! Last summer I had back surgery, and lived with constant severe pain and paralysis for months both before and afterwards; the doctor doubled my depression medication because I could not drag myself around mentally OR physically. I struggled through pt for weeks…and one day, not all that long ago, I had the radio on and found myself moving to the music - and suddenly I was laughing! Made all the difference in allowing me to push myself further; now I am virtually pain free, walking unassisted, and enjoying life again. Music (and dancing!) do indeed have healing powers!

I LOVE to dance! I had danced the east coast swing, west coast swing, Square dance, Contra (parent form of Square dance) and English country dancing (grandparent of SD) Waltz, Polka, Schottishe Meringue, cowboy 2 step and I tried my hand at Salsa (my balance challenges stopped that.)

I believe you cannot dance and continue to be depressed or miserable. At least I couldn't! I loved the east coast swing classes and if for some reason I had to miss them on Sunday night, the rest of the week was just not right.

East coast classes will be starting again this Monday night. I plan to be there!

THANK YOU !!!! THANK YOU !!!! THANK YOU !!! I absolutely Love your discussion post !!! In fact, I love it so much that I'm going to print it out and frame it and put it on the wall close to where I work all day on my artwork ect. My most favorte thing to do of all time is dance. I have had a back injury for the past year and around 4 months ago found out that I have diabetes. The one thing that I love to do most is dance. Because of my injury I certainly can't dance how I would like to but I do what I can. Dancing does make me happy and I really needed to read your post because lately I have been miserable and going through alot of different emotions. I might not be able to shake it like I use to but you are so right, dancing changes the way that you feel inside and even if I can't shake it like I use to I'm going to get up and dance a little bit at least. - Bless You - Teresa Rose

Thank You! You are so welcomed. I know we dont like living in our limitations. Some of us more than others like yourself. Yet now you have the tools to change things. Being overwhelmed sometimes makes us think we cant do whatever or lose sight of it. Wow your post is so uplifting not just because of your message but because of your post a while back when you were very down. My heart is so glad for you.
After my hernia surgery in July, I had a lot of pain afterward, something was not healing correctly. What I did was go sit on my front porch and watch the children play. We have 6 or 7 boys that run back and forth between homes and are so fun to watch. The sunshine and beautiful children brightened my day enormously.

Well I am human after all! LOL we all have those moments. Yet I can write what I am feeling and not ashamed of it either. For not only am I getting help but others may as well. Plus I have many new friends and a new family here! So it rocks! LOL

Well what is the obvious to some may not be to others. So thus my post is to help uplift in mind spirit and maybe body. To help us refocus on the positive for there is many negatives out there as it is. So Dance like there is no tomorrow. Be happy just cause it makes others realize they dont impact you negatively. Smile for it makes others wonder what you are smiling about. LOL (Wicked Evil Grin) LOL Now imagine doing that and boy just thinking of the reactions you will get. LOL Now that is a riot! LOL Have a great day!:)
