I'll have to try eating something every three hours. That's about the only difference I see in your method and mine.

Absolutely! Diabetic dieticians say not to go longer than 3 hours without eating to maintain proper blood sugar & keep you from feeling hungry!

I lost the trigger that tells me I'm hungry years ago. The bad part of that is that I, also, don't know when I am full. I learned to eat on the clock with the three meals and a couple of snacks. This won't be that different except that I will be aware of the carbs, protein and portion size.
Thanks again,

I do 3 makes a day with snacks also. If I'm gonna have a longer day our do more exercise I throw in an extra one. I had to completely retrain my body & mind to recognize when I am actually hungry & full & not eating for other reasons. Guess if it works & you are doing well, go with it!

Also finding what foods trigger your sugar to go up. I have to stay away from some rices & milk poducts, but do great with whole grains. Also have issues with some fruit no mayer how little I eat. BUT what grandmaducky said about portions & not skping on the protein is VERY important!!

My last A1C over a year ago, was 5.4 I know I need to get it checked soon, and I am sure it is still in good range. I started out with 5.7. Some of the things you eat, sound like me. I eat a handful of nuts nearly everyday but I eat a little more fruit. I also eat lots of peanut butter, not like lots at a serving, but regularly. I like those 100 calorie things sometimes too. I eat very thin crust pizza sometimes but not too much. I like BabyBel small cheese rounds, skim milk everyday, and I do eat lots of whole wheat. I eat regular eggs, just not too many per week, and I wll sometimes eat bacon. I don't eat lots of red meat at all. I eat as many veggies as I can, which will be harder now that there won't be as much 'fresh' varieties as summer is winding down so I will mostly eat frozen.

I am almost twice as good as you! Mine was 9.6, up from 9.2. I always wanted to be a 10! Way to go grandma!

Just got good news from my Doctor, my A1C was a 5.5, six months ago it was 6.0. It had been steadly climbing the past couple of years and was little bit afraid of what it would be this time. but went down.
