Today is Sunday October 26, 2008. I thought it would be nice to share with others how you are feeling today.

My Bs was 91 this morning which is great. I was feeling a little sick this morning and became intimate with my toilet, once again. After sleeping a little more I felt so much better when I got up. Had a english muffin with a egg for breakfast and I'm feeling pretty good. I think it's gonna be a good day for me.

If any body would like to add a "How are you feeling today" Say tomorrow. Just put the date at the beginning like I did. And tell us how your feel today.

I have had the most insane last couple of months. I had been out of running so I took up swimming and cycling and now that I am back to running again I am doing my first triathlon next sunday. Personally my life has had a lot of ups and downs recently. I have reconnected with an old friend from high school and have not had this much fun in a long time. Another relationship is ending since she was not faithful to me. Has anybody been through this and could let me know what the whole process is like.

I was feeling ok today. I have a new health concern that appeared on friday. I have a appointment with my doctor tomorrow. If it is what I think it is, god help me. Is this ever gonna end? I am kind reaching the end of my teather with all these help issues.

Go ahead, rub it in…79 degrees…I swear I keep asking myself why we moved from Louisina to western Washington…OMG…brrrrrr…hehehe.

Lynda I am so glad that your feeling better, kinda had me a little ummm worried…lol…

Today is a good day so far for me…my hubby and I are still looking for work, for I have figured out that my body will not allow me to work the jobs that I know how to do…and it is hard trying to get into a field that allows me to sit at a desk. I am going to finish my associates degree in business and then that should allow me to find the right job…hopefully…

Yes, we are having very nice weather here, considering it is the middle of January. Eddie and I are planning on going to the beach on Thursday. Supposed to be a high of 81. Gonna do alittle fishing and some sunbathing. I will try to send the sun your way when we are done with it!

PS. I lived in Minnesota for the first 16 years of my life. So I do know about the snow and the cold. Then I moved to Texas and now Florida. I guess I've been spoiled by the sun. I wouldn't move back to cold for nothin.

So far today is better than yesterday, I feel more like being on db site today. I do not feel as much of a victim as yesterday being alerted of being a point poster, or someone who is just here to gain points . What is that anyway a special honor? There are no rewards, it is just a tracking of your activity and I have been on a lot since I first learned of diabetic problem in September. It really has not been that long, but I have a lot to learn, and a lot to read and contribute. Sorry, thanks for letting me vent while I am responding. lol Claudia

Today is Saturday, January 10, 2009. I started out feeling fine and then I started doing my floors. Like an idiot I put ammonia in the pail and put bleach directly on the floor to clean the floor. Unfortunately the fumes got in my nostrils and irritated my lungs and the Sarcoid and I have not been able to stop coughing. If anyone know how to help stop the coughing please tell me."HELP"

I am having one of those days today. I found out some really great news yesterday in that I have been taken off the diabetes medications since I had an A1C level of 5.6 for the second time in a row. Then today I got some news that I might have a torn meniscus. Why is it that we can get some great news and then right afterwards get some bad news. I have been working so hard running and it just does not seem fair. I have not been able to run since mid december and probably will not be able to run again until the middle to end of February. I have an MRI scheduled for friday morning and another appointment next Wednesday. I will find out the official diagnosis then. I will probably need surgery to repair the knee. Thanks for listening to me vent. I know some of you have a lot worse problems but it sucks that something good cant just happen by itself.

Kind of like everyone; yesterday I got bad news, and today my bad news got worse; so I feel extremely depressed and withdrawn. as far as my husbands; family goes, the cards are definitely stacked against me.

As an update I do not have a torn meniscus so I will not need surgery. I have a stress reaction, which is a precursor to a stress fracture. I was lucky I stopped running when I did or I could have ended up with a broken tibia. It is kind of bittersweet news because I have to stay off of the leg as much as possible and I have worked really hard to stay active.

Today is Nov 6, 2008. I felt great today. Happy to be alive. I finally don't feel sick anymore.(WOOHOO) My husband got a huge bonus at work today so I went shopping. Something I love to do but don't do very often. Bought some new clothes, shoes, got all my meds refilled, went grocery shopping, and bought somethings for the house. I had so much fun. Something that I've needed for awhile now.
My blood sugar was 89 just before I had dinner about 30 minutes ago. Had bbq chicken and corn. And I have a low carb cherry cheesecake for dessert.(Yummy)
Hope everyone had a great day. Life is worth living.

Today is November 5, 2008. This is my first day without insulin. My b/s was 106 this morning. I had my two cups of coffee with my morning meds. All pills. Yea! About 8:30 am I had my vinegar than a little hash browns with 2 eggs on top with some salsa. I will check in 2 hours to see how I did. Lunch is going to be some Italian Wedding soup from Healthy Harvest. It is low in carbs and calories. I am going to do 2 miles on the bike today. So far I feel great. Just knowing I do not have to take anymore shots gives me so much motivation. Have a great day everyone.

Today is November 4, 2008. I am starting to feel alot better. Still have slight stomach discomfort. And a occasional hot flash. Yes hot flash. I think I may be going through menopause. My mom went through it when she was 35 so it's possible that I am now at 37. Combined with the pcos it's really not to much fun. As any woman who has gone through menapause will tell ya. I am going to go see my gyno to get started on either birth control or HRT. Somethings gotta give here. My bs was 113 when I took it about a hoour ago. I just had a small bowl of cereal for lunch so I shouldn't have to much of a change. I'm just going to take it easy today and work on my cross-stitch that I'm so far behind on now from being sick. Everyone have a great day, hope your weather is as beautiful as mine is today. Love everyone.

Today is November 2 and I am feeling great today. Had a good nights sleep and my b/s this morning was 101. I have been busy today, I decided to purge all my drawers of their junk. I am taking 2 bags of magazines to the doctor's office for the lobby and exam rooms. I am alone today, hubby is at work and daughter is on a breakfast date that has turned into the afternoon. LOL Had a bowl of cream of wheat for breakfast with grinder cinnamon and for lunch may have chicken noodle soup. Have you all tried the new Healthy Harvest soup. They are wondeful, low in carbs and calories. My favorite is Italian Wedding soup. Doing some laundry now and then will watch the Nascar race. Go Tony 20 Go. Dinner I think will be vegetables. How does roasted brussels sprouts and a big salad sound? Yummy. Have a great day everyone.

When you roast them it changes the taste to a really good vegetable. Kind of like cabbage. I put olive oil and garlic on mine. They are my favorite veggie.

I agree with ilvtony. Vegetables are so yummy roasted. They carmelize and the taste is incredible. I love roasting vegetables and experiencing roasting all kinds. We are doing this for Thanksgiving. All my nieces now eat more veggies due to the roasting of them…

Even potatoes are better. You can roast every kind. Butternut squash, parsnips, turnips even asparagus. For Thanksgiving I am roasting potatoes, green beans and cherry tomatoes all together with olive oil, garlic and lemon.

get the fresh vegetables not frozen, prepare them and put on a cookie sheet, I cover the sheet with foil then sprinkle with olive oil and garlic or seasoning. mix it up, put in a 450 oven for about 30 minutes, a little longer for potatoes. do not touch them while cooking, they will stick. when they release from the foil or pan they are done. yummy

I do mine the same way as you ilvtony. I wanted to add when I steam vegetables or make rice I do them in low sodium chicken broth the taste is so yummy. I also like to boil my potatoes in the chicken broth also before I mash them. I also like that flavor too.

I've read all these things about the veggie and they sound great. I am all Italian and I put garlic on just about evreything. But I have never roasted them with garlic. You would think I have hu? Anyways, I'm defiantely going to give it a try. I have just aquired a taste for asparagus. After I cook it I marinate them overnight in evoo with a touch of vinegar, fresh garlic, onion, and red and yellow peppers. It's aboslutely to die for good. Thanks for all the great roasting ideas. Everyone needs to each more veggies.

Cauliflour is amazing roasted. I use the Olive Oil spray and kosher salt…and sometimes garlic/ pepper, etc.

Roasted veggies are awesome!
Another good recipe for Thanksgiving:
Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Red Potatoes (or Yukon), and onions. Spray (or drizzle) olive oil, kosher salt, pepper (optional) and roast away!

enjoy!

I've been dealing with diabetes for so many years (gestational in 1990 and 1992) then monitored until 1999, when I started taking meds. Just sometimes am not willing to do what it takes to manage this…and other times, do what it takes, and still get poor results.

Good Morning Everyone. Today is Monday, October 27 and it's my day off from work this week. My first test of the day was 170, which is a little higher than my normal of 110-140. I feel very tired today and lazy too, and my feet really ache me today. The neuropathy is driving me nuts lately, and the 900mg a day total that I take of Gabapentin does not seem to work much. Then again it makes it hard running around the store stocking, so that I'm sure has alot to do with it. Other than my usual aches and pains, it's going to be a good day today!

If my feet let up, I think I'll head out to photograph the fall foliage.

Have a great day my friends & good health!

Barry

Today is October 27 and it marks my 8th month anniversary of being diabetic. I only know this because I started a new log book today. LOL!!

I am feeling pretty good. My frist week average was 294! wow that was horrible. My last week average was 191. Still a far cry from where I need to be, but loosing those 103 points in my average is a step in the right direction and I am feeling good about it all. I got my butt back into my exercise routine and that always helps me feel better physically and emotionally. I think we are going to cast our vote today in early voting and just sit and watch what happens next. LOL

WTG Gabby!…dont worry about the current numbers right, just pat yourself on the back for losing over a 100 points in 8 months. The fact that you are doing this without any meds is wonderful..even the other people that are off their meds had to use to meds to get to where they were better to get off of them. You are doing this all without doctorial (is that really a word??) help!!! You are truly an inspiration!!

Blessed Be
