Hello Tabby9146, my a1c has never been low. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!
Hope you will be able to maintain that number for sometime, and maybe they will re-verse your medications. My brother was diagnosed with Diabetes, like my self but he only has to take 1 pill - insulin. He lost 100 lbs, in weight, and his doctor took him off of his diabetes medicine. It was reversed. Before his weight was around 350 lbs., his height is 6'0" tall. Very large frame. However, he is able to run after his grand kids now.

congrats!! When I went down to 5.4, a nurse, who does the diabetes education classes, told me that was like a non-diabetic. I was so excited! Of course, she cautioned me, that was like a remission and did not have any idea how long that would last. I already knew that, but I believe a person can maintain that for a very very long time! I know I am going to try.

I was able to get off the Metformin, after losing 25 lbs. I then went on to lose about 8 more, after that. I remember having lows once I started losing weight. I cut my pill in half, and it was much better, until I got to the doc weeks later, I knew she would take me off of it. You might be able to come off too, I sure hope so

Grandmaducky that is wonderful news. There are so many that are discouraged here reading this will help them to realize that the devil (diabetes) can be controlled. Keep up the good work soon you will be controlling with diet and exercise alone.
