Have you guys heard of freecycle? It is a part of yahoo groups. But I am a member. It is a group that shares things they no longer need, but don't want to throw in the trash.
But I have gotten peach's and apricots and canned them on about 5 different occasions from members giving fruit away.
I have gotten many nice things from free cycle and given away nice things, That I no longer needed.

I don't care for freecycle anymore. It seems unless you are constantly monitoring it and contacting the member within a few minutes of them posting, the items are always taken.

I was recently sent 3 bottles of Lantus, and I was just put on the pump. So I no longer was going to use Lantus. So, what do I do with this stuff. I returned it to my doctor. But other wise, could I give it away? I don't know what laws if any I would be breaking if I gave it away on freecycle corona.
I know it is prescription only, so I would have been breaking some law.

Yes, you would have been breaking a few laws if you gave it away because it is a prescription medication. Even more laws if you got it because it was prescribed to you.

If you are interested you will have to go to the link above and find a group that is near you. I live in Corona Calif. so I am a member of freecycle corona.
Hope this is useful to some one.

I actually need some Lantus and live in Temecula. I couldn't afford to get it yet with my HMO. Its $200 for one bottle. I used to get it for 40 bucks and get two bottles. I always give my strips away to friends of friends in need, I know how pricey some things are, But most of my friends are type2. My mom sends me supplies too. When her patients passes the family gives the left over supplies.

Hi Zanne,
Sorry to hear you use Lantus and I just gave it back to my Doctor. I figured he can legally prescribe it, so I would be safe in giving it to him. My doctor told me to keep one box incase my pump had a problem. I have the open bottle left.
