Honestly, the adjustment process is painful. Your mind will have to rule your body for a while, or you will never make it. My best advice is that you need to secure a workout/exercise partner. Best wishes.

18 months ago I started exercising for the first time in my life…walking…It was not easy but I kept at it everyday making it further and further down the sidewalk, then around the block, at the Mall and now I average 5 miles ea day. It is a day by day thing and it is now a thing I really look forward to…walking clears the cobwebs outta my mind and all the time makes my body healthier and stronger…Good Luck to you…

I joined Curves in February. I started out just doing the circuit training. It wasn't that bad. Once my body got used to that I decided to attend the zumba circuit training. It was fun, but it took alot out of me. I didn't give up. Now it's great. I look forward to every Tuesday & Thrusday. I sometimes do both sessions. So just go at it slow. You can do it!!!

You take it one step at a time… I walk 2-3 miles 4-5 days a week and 3-4 evenings when I get in from work; I get on the exercycle and the treadmill…; I needed to get my heart rate up, so I hula hoop 2-3 times a week depending on how my work week has gone. I'm in my 60's!! You can do it!!

I tried Zumba but just couldn't get the legs and hands to work together and felt like a dork. It was a great workout though. I've reverted to walking in the evening with a friend 3 or 4 times a week. We do 2 to 3 miles in 40 to 50 minutes, a pretty good pace. My BG is always lower when I get back from the walk.
