I have been testing bg levels now for 3 months and diagnosed in May. I takee 100g of metformin daily. I find I feel really well with a bg of 100-120. Lots of energy and a sense of well being. Is it possible that this is my best range? I was told in class 120 was higher end. I will ask my doctor, but, frankly, my doctor isn't much help at all. (I am looking for a new one) If I strive to lower my bg levels even lower will I eventually feel as well as I do at my present range?

Hi. For me 120 is a good bs level. Rule of thumb according to my doc is keep it under 140. Above that is when damage can occur. I'm sooooooo happy your feeling great! Keep up the good work! Sounds like your doing great! I woulnt worry about levels at 120 that's a good level. Some can get lower but still its good. If you start getting into the 140 150 range then that's not good. But for no sounds like your doing just fine! Have a great day and God bless!

Good morning and congratulations, Mary! You seem to be doing things right. The feelings you describe IMO sound pretty much like "normal" feelings! However, to answer your question, IMO if you strive to lower your BG even lower, one or both of two things will happen: (1) you will eventually feel (with lower BG levels) as well as you do in your present range, and (2) you will be able to lower your intake of Met! Both of which are good things, of course! Have a great day, enjoy what you've accomplished, but keep up the good work! ;-) Mara
