Hope that all of you who are in the path of Hurricane Irene like me are safe & prepared in case of power outages etc. An earthquake & a hurricane all in one week. Yikes!

I faired well in my immediate area. I got heavy rains at times but then there would be a lull in them & just light rain giving the waters a chance to drain away. We got high winds too but never lost power.

Now we have to be careful about falling trees & poles cause 2 weeks ago we had 8 days of soaking rains & so the ground here is already saturated & soft making it even easier for trees & poles to come loose & topple over.

I teasingly blamed my bro, Dan, for the hurricane cause he was suppose to come for a visit this weekend & couldn't just like last Dec 26th when he was suppose to visit & we got the 2 ft blizzard. LOL :D

That is ironic. People naming the hurricanes should look that kind of stuff up before picking the names. lol :) But then again maybe using names like this will generate lower devistation. Or at least wishful thinking.

Prayers for all who are in Irene's path.
("Irene" is Greek for peace or peaceful. kind of ironic isn't it?)
