During my time of knowing my husband he hasn't always had problems sleeping. It seems like more and more he seems to be having problems sleeping. Not only that he also has days where all he does is sleep or lie around all day! I know that is fine once in awhile but this happens a lot! I'm sorry but it drives me crazy. I just want to spend time with him and all he wants to do is sleep. I feel myself getting more and more lonely each day. There are days I cancel plans with other people because I want to spend time with him but then all he ends up doing is sleeping. He only works a part time job and barely does anything around the house so I know that he isn't getting overworked. We also do not have any kids so he doesn't have to worry about really taking care of anyone. I take care of him. What could be causing him to be tired all the time or wanting to sleep all the time? Yes it may be broken sleep sometime but you can just sleep all day trying to make up for it. You really need to live your life. I feel like our life is being taken over by him sleeping or laying around. I really need help with them because I grow more and more worried about him. Not only do I worry about him. I worry that our life is going to pass us by before we know it. We will lose our chances to really enjoy things. I mean he is only 26 and I'm 28. We still have our lives ahead of us! Any help is welcome! **side note he has had Type 1 Diabetes for over 10 years now.**

If he's having a lot of highs and lows it can make you feel tired. By the way, did you know he was a diabetic when you married him?

I find that I get really tired on the days that I have BG's that go up and down wildly. And even for a day or two after that, I'll still be tired.

Wow, I know this is crazy but I get very tired also and at wrong times like 4:30pm 5pm and have to lie down. Then dinner is late! It is very frustrating in the morns to wake too. I woke this morn with 101 bs which is ok better than before I came to this site. I say it over and over this site is my motivation. You all are my motivation. Your support and friendship and just being able to share. Thank you all for your support! Yes, you two are young which yes, you should be living life, but he does have some boundaries I see and should ask his dr. and maybe you two could set up some times where you can do something like go out for breakfast instead of home. Go for a walk in the late afternoon. But you both have to make your minds up to do these things and make sure he is totally a part of the decision. He could very well be depressed. Good luck, good health and success on your part.

Pls check with his dr. before you make any decisions to make sure his bs's are good.

I agree with George1947 and suggest he see a sleep doctor. I am going tommorrow and I am suppose to have a sleep study done. I have been a lot like your husband, I will fall asleep while watching TV and miss half the show.

You guys are soo young! I have a problem with being sleepy all the time. What I did was went to my doctor and explained what I'm feeling. He gave me a medicine that helps me not want to sleep all the time. It really helps a lot during the day and I'm able to fall asleep just fine at night. The medication is called nuvigil. Its been a God send for me! Perhaps something like that would help your husband with his problem? Don't take the sleeping personal because its not… its something that happens to some people and they can't help but sleep. Id ask my doctor if he could help. In the meantime try to be understanding toward your husband because I'm quite sure he is not able to help it. I wish you the very best and hope you find a soulation to this problem! God bless

I find that I am so tired during the day. I work during the day. I get up at 4:15a, at work by 6:30am. I go to bed between 8 and 9 pm. Most days, it's all that I can do to stay awake at work.. I am going to ask my doctor about Nuvigil. Maybe it would work for me, too. Thanks!

Your welcome! It works well for me! :) its not quite as strong as a narcoleptic medicine but it does work well! Their is also provigil if insurance won't cover nuvigil . I don't know what id do without it!

Oh wow, you guys are around my age. I agree with you; you need to live life to the fullest. Might wanna ask him there something troubling him.

Like what George said, he might need to see a doctor about that. I get lethargic when my BG is too high. He could be going through that too.

I'm going to suggest that he see a sleep specialist. Also it would help to know his blood sugar numbers are when he's that tired. It's possible he has a form of sleep apnea or his BG's are extremely high. At least those are my guesses…
