What a wonderful idea! I bought several wonderful books about diabetes, diet, insulin use. The books I bought are from amazon and go to my kindle applacation I have on my phone. So they are e books. But I still have them all and wonder if kindle allows you to share? Kindle is a free applacation exactly like the kindle you can buy.. except its for your cell phone.its a awsome applcation and they have many wonderful books for diabetics avaiable! The books can be shipped in hard cover or as an e book as mine are. Amazon has the best prices I've found. Buy reading many books I've learned soo much about diabetes! I will look into it and see if you can share already purchased books on kindle applacation! If so I have many titles I can share! I think your idea is wonderful! We should look into making a book exchange! E book or other. Great idea! Or at least share titles of good books and where to purchase them! If you have a cell phone or even on your computer you can get the kindle for free! Then order books from their. The e books I love because they are usually half the price and read exactly as a regualr book reads! I recomend this to all people who love to read! Also, they have a wonderful selection of books for diabetic people. One of my favorites is"think like a panceras" it has a wealth of information in it espically if your a insulin user like myself! They also have books just for the newly diagonsed diabetic that touches on the physical and mental ascept of being diabetic! They are wonderful and as I said earlier very affordable! Well, I just wanted to share that with you. I hope you don't mind my rambling but I get excited when it comes to good books :)

I don't really buy a lot of books however when I do find some from the library, I will post discussions on them for others who either do buy books or wish to check their local libraries or inter library loans. DC used to have a "book club" area where I would post reviews on diabetes books and various diabetic friendly cookbooks. There is a national website at swap.com that may be worth checking out.

Quite often I find books I want to read on Diabetes in the Public library. The libraries here also have used book room where you can pick up a book for a nominal cost. If one wants to get rid of a book you can give it to the public library for them to sell in their used book room. I haven't bought a book at retail prices (or even on discount) for quite some time.
