I just learned that when my bs are in line,my depression isn't as strong. Also my eye sight is clearer. It really is worth tracking your bs and finding out if is too low or too high. And why? Any thoughts?

Testing your bs is the only way to get a handle on your "D".Try to test before & after meals. This will also indicate how your body is utilizing your insulin.

Howdy Peter!
Didn't you just give 2 positive effects of controlling your BG levels? Your eyesight and your depression is lessened!

Without testing and tracking your BG levels you are reduced to your diabetes controlling YOU rather than you controlling your diabetes. Without testing and tracking your BG levels you won't have any idea for sure of what foods ior drinks affect your BG readings in what way. If you find that a food/drink is spiking you, you can avoid it and keep your BG at a more normal level and hopefully those symptoms will improve greatly, and you won't run the risk of developing more complications which may be embarassing, painful or potentially deadly, or the risk will be greatly reduced.

I find it VERY worthwhile to test and track my BG levels. I pray that what I wrote here makes sense to you and you test regularly and track how you're doing. I pray that you will do what you can to control your diabetes so it doesn't control you.

God's blessings to you and yours
