Before you go to bed, or first thing in the morning, before you think of everything you have to do that day, Choose one good thing to do for yourself, that would make you happy and feel better about who you are and what your needs are,and do it first if time allows. It could be visiting diabetic-connect, and reading or posting, discuss, whatever; a bit, or maybe play with your dogs, or a walk or jog; talk to someone special on the phone; allow yourself something very special because you deserve it, because it makes issues (health##1) that you deal with everyday to be so much more manageable, and less distressing knowing that is all you have to look forward to everyday. I just talked to my husband on the phone, and told him how much better I FELT (especially, Emotionally) he agreed that he would do this every Friday. Great way to deal with the weeks stress, and something to look forward to it once again at the end of the week, so try this if you have someone who you can to experience this with, does not have to be another member of the family, or even a friend who might want to come over and spend time with you; Often times people offer their help, let them..

Well, my step son comes today, so I started his favorite dinner yesterday. Homemade sauce and meat for spaghetti. That is especially for him so I am looking forward to seeing him today. And I am looking forward to being with my husband today. He is finally off work after all the maditory overtime, etc.

I have not gotten off to a good start today; along with the severe pain I have been dealing with since last week, and the feeling that I have hurt one of my friends feelings here, I am feeling pretty blue. Not doing much of anything. Just laying around feeling sorry for myself; But, I have to stop and take a bath or something and get myself going. Sometime today. :->)

I am very close to my mother so calling her is the first thing I do everyday. Even if it's just "Hi, good morning, call you later." She always up very early in the morning. So when I wake up even if it's just for 10 mintes to take the dog out, I make that phone call. It makes her so happy to hear my voice every morning then again during the day. And it makes me happy aswell because there was about a 5-6 year period that we didn't speak at all. Now we have a great relationship and I'm going to her house in Crystal river Florida on nov 20 for thanksgiving and for her birthday. Gonna stay a couple weeks or so. Should be fun.

I too am very close to my mother, and that is how I end my day…she is 2 hours behind me, so after I put my daughter to bed between 8-9 I give her a call and we chat about our day…it's a great way to keep in contact, and it just makes me feel better. No matter what is going on in my life, my mommy can always make it better…

Blessed Be

I also like this idea. One thing that I look forward to doing is getting on diabetic connect to see what is going on with everyone on here. Also reading the Bible.

I look forward to connecting with the people with the same problem as we are dealing with, and getting just the uplifting advice I need to face another day.

I like to get up before anyone else,go to my desk ,get on diabetic connect ,drink my coffee and just enjoy the quiet. I do love my family very much,I also enjoy my quiet time.

But I wish there was a section or maybe there is, for specific things that we could connect with. Do you all know what I mean. Some of us are diabetic and have fibromyalgia, some are diabetic and have something else. It wold be nice to have a section for being diabetic with a specific other disease that you could really connect with people with. Because you may not have the same thing I do and so your numbers and problems would be different than mine. Does that make sense. And yes I know we have profiles and all, but I do not put all that in my profile. Maybe this does not make sense. Because everyone is different anyway. I need more coffee. LOL

I went through months on end with depression, and not wanting to get up or even shower; It is hard. I trained myself to set my coffee pot, and to look forward to that first cup of the day; watching the news and chilling. Also I get up earlier than anyone in the house, at least an hour to have my quiet time, and I look forward to that, so I can function better.

Maybe everyone could post what they do? Dealing with everyday stresses is an "art form" and really affects your numbers. I have a new puppy and he makes my day. so cute and loving and he needing to go out, forces me to get up and dressed so I can take him out for a walk. He is getting what he needs and I am getting exercise and up and moving around. Before him, I usually stayed in bed along time and somedays did not get out of my pajamas. LOL

What a fantastic idea. I know I tend to try to plan my day with a to-do list, rarely accomplish everything and get mad at myself for being lazy. I like this because it is something to really look forward to. I know one thing I love to do everyday it hang out in front of our fish tank. It is so relaxing. I don't do it enough. I will have to see what else I can add in there. I really like this, thanks for the suggestion.
