Considering the cost of diabetes testing, and other supplies needed for dealing with Diabetes, what else can we do?

What else can we do, well, we could try all the things we can think of to do to control this disease.

What about exercise? Are you exercising? Not just daily movements, but that extra exercise that is actually good for us.

What have you been eating? Spaghetti? Oh, that does sound so good. Other types of pasta? Rice? Have you been to a Mexican food restaurant lately? Italian? American? How about an order of French Fries?

Drinking. Have you had more than your share of some brand of cola lately?
Sweetened Tea? Coffee with cream and sugar?

So, what are we eating?

Are we really trying hard to control the diabetes?

Is the diabetes sneaking in through some of those drinks and foods???

Not exercising, not helping circulation!

This list could go on and on. I think I have made my point.

We need to think ahead to be able to do the right things.

Maybe a lot of our eating and drinking are only habits.

We can change habits.

Any comments for my opinions? I'm Betty Jo

I do notalways manage my diabetes very well. There are times when I am just plain hungry for a sandwich. I always try at that time to leave off all the good things like cheese,Catsup ir mayonnaise, since I do not always have lo-cal. It is very hard to give up some things.

John,
That's an interesting point. But if you're saving money by buying food that's terrible for you, then in the long run it is probably cheaper to buy the fresh fruits and vegetables.

We've been trying to eat more fruits and vegetables. I found out recently that there is a farmer's market not far from our home. I'm going to check that out this summer. I'm not sure what the prices are like at a farmer's market, hopefully we can save a little.

Have any ways you can share that will help us?

Know any new things we should check out?

What about medications? Good or bad.

Hope you are all feeling okay today, and everyday.

Get out of that bed and move your body, it only helps!

Hi Betty Jo,

I cannot honestly speak from a true diabetics experience only my little bout with it while I was pregnant.

But my doctor suggested that I incorporate more exercise but even just getting up after a mean and perimeter walking my house. I know it sounds kinda lame but it does work. With being pregnant I just didn't have the motivation anymore to really 'go' and workout. My hips bothered me and I just was not feeling working out. So the perimeter walking worked for me and it did bring my bs down some after my meals.

Anyway I try to chime in when I can and give my experiences.

Hope it's helpful in some way*
