emails from diabetic connect

I have gotten several emails that say you have… but when you follow the link it just goes to the same page and there is nothing there about anything that was refered to in the email. This site seems to me to be getting harder to navigate all the time, or maybe I just need a tutor to help me learn my way around! I used to love this site over almost any other! signed one frustrated Preacher1

Thank you for posting this. We are working hard to fix our notifications. We know that right now the links are not very helpful. Especially if you have active friends who are posting a lot. Originally, when the site was smaller and there were fewer members, taking you to your profile page worked because the activity you were being notified about would be right there in your activity feed. However, now that the site has grown so much, that activity is often pushed off of the first (or maybe even second) page of activity, making it really hard to find.

We are working on a fix that will link you directly to the item you're being notified about. We are close. Hang in there with us.

Howdy Preacher1 you have been missed. Just play around on the site and you'll learn your way around. If you get stuck, you can email me or one of the admins and ask them how to do this or that.

It seems to me that one should not need directions to navigate a website. That is not consumer friendly at all.

Sometimes people get used to the way it was and have trouble getting adjusted when a website has a major upgrade like happened back in 2009, I think. We like to help others out here, that is the main way this site is user-friendly.

It seems there have been some issues with the notifications and the tech team is working on them. I have notified them of your situation and hopefully it will add to the info they need to remedy the situation. Please be patient. We are having growing pains too as the site becomes more and more popular. Your input is always helpful and we are glad you share the problems so we can work on them.

You should have the moderators on your friends list (John, Gabby, etc). Why not copy and paste the wayward links in a private message to them so they can follow the links and figure out what's up. I haven't been getting emails from DC but then again I usually hit my "delete" key on anything that is not from someone I know personally.

I have had this issue to so I emailed DC about it and recieved an email back from them stating that the tech support was working on the problem and getting and easier way to be able to see all the new thing that are posted or commented on that you recieve the emails for.

I know what you mean. It bothered me at first than I figured out that I needed to click on name of the one that left the gift or comment. I hope that helps, they should link to them or post the activity to our profile.
