Hello all, I hope that you are doing well.
I just wanted to share an informational site that I sort of stumbled upon. I did a quick search here and couldn't find any references to it. It is called FOODPICKER.org and is specifically geared towards people with diabetes. Rather than recommend one brand over another or selectively review a few things that may or may not be easily found by all of us, this site reviews just about everything oin the shelves and then gives each item a rank from three choices: More Often; In Moderation; Less Often.
They also list the nutritional information from the product label and offer suggested exercises and corresponding durations for each to burn off the calories from a serving - the recommended exercise and duration can be configured for the individual by entering your own weight. It is a very user friendly site. I am finding it particularly helpful as I am still confused about what to eat and when to eat it and how to count my carbs and so on and so forth. So far my BG numbers are really good, but this is a lifetime condition that will do what it wants to just when I think I have it under control. Any tool that can help to prepare me for the unexpected (or equip me to handle those moments when I might want to step out of my safe zone for a treat) is certainly welcomed.
I hope that some of my fellow DCers will find the site interesting and helpful also.
