I saw a review for Ambian, but has anyone tried Lunesta? I am going to talk to my doctor next week about something to help me sleep and I don't know what to ask for. My mother takes Trazadone, and Ambian was one on here…

Any suggestions??

Ambien cr does not work well anyway; only good for about 3 hours then wears off.

I take Ambien for sleep, however, I have to cut it in half or I'm too fuzzy in the AM. It still allows me to sleep and I haven't painted my house in the middle of the night yet! :) Take care, Angie

Sounds like me with my manic stages; I would paint all night, clean all night, using the excuse that the kitchen is not busy then and it is a good time to work on drawers and cupboars; also a good time to walpaper. If you can not sleep you might just as well do something worth while.

my suggestion would be for you to ask your doctor about lunesta or mepbrobamate 400mg.,i have taken both of these meds and they both work for me well at bedtime. only your doctor can tell if they are right for you though so ask him about the two.

I just use tylenol PM. I am very sensitive to most any kind of med that causes drwosiness, so I take one if I want to just rest thru the nite and two if I really need a good nite's sleep. I am groggy at my 4:30 AM doggie call, but usually by the time I get up at 5:30-6:00 I am good. I don't drink coffee either, so I wake up just fine on my own.

I have been taking 3 fast acting tylenol pms and nothing…still up till 3 or 4. That's why I am going to talk to my doc…this just cannot go on.

Wow, that is crummy. I went to webMD yesterday looking for other sleep aids, but since I have not used any of them I didn't want to post anything. But you might want to try that. There they list the med, how to take it, what it does, if it's habbit forming, is very through
My only caution is to follow the directions very carefully. My husband was perscribed one (and I cannot remember the name for the life of me) and it erased 3 days from his memory. We were using them as perscribed to help with his spasam episodes, and it was too strong and just made him live in a different world. It scared me a lot. He couldn't belive what had happened be careful with them.

OH my goodness how scary would that be. Yes thank you for the concern…I will only take as described and cut in half if I need to.

My doctor prescribed 1/2 valium for my sleepless nights. With just the 1/2 it does not cause the next day "drowsies". I take too many pain meds to take Ambien or Lunesta.

hmm I never thought about valium..thanks I'll keep that in mind. I am worried about the next day drowsiness too.

I don't use any prescription drugs but found Valerian Root capsules 450 mg 3 about 30 minutes before bed time calms the old brain down enough for me to get to sleep. Its sold at any drug store.

Please be very careful with this. A little is good but to much is a poison. I found this out the hard way and was very sick. Cara
