When I first head about that drug, I thought they were idiots for spending money on researching it. It was always going to have problems that outweigh the positives.

I agree with the FDA's withholding approval of the drug. What I don't understand is why anyone would be willing to participate in a clinical trial. One never knows whether they get the drug or the placebo. If they take the placebo, they aren't taking anything for the DM. If they take the drug, they are playing around with something they don't know how it will affect their body. ;-) Mara

I don't know why any of those concerns mentioned in the article would stop the FDA from approving this drug. It approves a lot of other stuff that has HORRIBLE side effects. A lot of them are still on the market. A little cancer shouldn't bother diabetics. Geez! Yes, I am being VERY sarcastic.

I tried to read it, but as I use a library computer the settings are set so I can't click on an email address and get it. Might there be another link wich might be more accessable?

if you go to and go under blog the article is there and at the bottom you can read even more about the testing and concerns of the drug. Hope this works.
