Howdy Annon! There are folks on DC (Type 1s ) who have had their condition for 50 or 60 years. One, is just about to get his Joslin 75 year medal (in a couple of years). The ones of which I am reminded are very healthy, and have only had onset of complications a couple of years ago. You can live a VERY healthy and long life with diabetes if you take proper care of yourslef.

Blessings to you and yours

PS, come on out, you don't need to hide here. We don't bite —— hard, that is LoL!

The neat thing about being here on DC is you can ASK for help (generally through a new discussion is the best way) and usually someone, sometimes a lot of someones will come along and suggest an answer.

And then you can surf the site too, reading articles in the "health center" "Living with Diabetes" "Videos" "Blog articles" "News articles" and last but not least the "discussions" Reading in these areas have helped me tremendously. But generally the quickest way to find information is to ask for it in the discussions.

That's the idea of this site. It is nice for anyone to vent when the predations of D beastie get us down. We help one another here.

If you look at your friend requests you'll find one waiting from me. If you don't know how to find the request or how to accept it, just let me know on this discussion page and I'll try to guide you.
