I just wondered if anyone use holy basil to help level their bg. I wondered if it was a good supplement to add to diet?

I would say that you may want to do more research. Find a homeopathic physician who uses this. Then I would find out if it would be contraindicated with any of your other conditions or medicines. As for me, I would steer clear as it appears the side effects are brutal if one is not careful!!!!

Holy Basil Batman! Nah, I don't think it will catch on! LoL!

I had never heard of this so I looked it up on Google. Here's the wikipedia article on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocimum_tenuiflorum .

More to the point is this from WebMD: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ing...

Looking for warnings about any side effects here is something from Right Health: http://www.righthealth.com/topic/Holy_Basil_S...

I haven't used anything like this, so I couldn't tell you more about it.

I pray this will suffice for you to make a choice.

You might want to try adding more Omega 3's into your diet. Omega 3's are anti-inflammatory and Omega 6s are pro-inflammatory. Some sources of Omega 3's are salmon, flaxseeds, and walnuts. Everything can be cured through diet and the foods that you eat. I'm a health coach specializing in working with diabetes. Shoot me an email if you have any questions.

Yeah, OK becky! I have issues with Benign Perhipheral Vertigo, and occasionally having to vomit, but it is intermittent, and I've learned how to live with it.

OH —- Yeah, it IS almost that time.

Wow, those links are great and after reading them, it seems that Holy Basil might be a good thing to try if you are not currently on blood thinners or diabetes meds. If you are on those, talk to your doctor first, but if a side effect can be a diabetic low, then there might just be something there.

I had never heard of it before this post, so I will look into it a little more. It really seems to be used for quite a few things.
