Has anyone noticed a different odor comming from their urine after they inject with insulin? I've noticed a almost chemical smell comming off my urine , not all the time but after I inject. I wonder if anyone else has expirenced this or if its just me?? Its in the first urine after injection. It is so strange? Has any one heard of this? Please help! Thanks family :)

Absolutely fascinating. I am on insulin but, not having a sense of smell, I had no idea insulin effected the smell of urine .

Hello and yes I had it about 6 months ago. It was a bladder infection my doctor prescribe ciprofloxin ( not sure about the spelling). It went away but came back again. I always have a bladder infection or urinary tract infection.

I have had an odor in my urine a couple months ago, but I no longer use insulin, so maybe that disqualifies me from answering. LoL!

I mentioned it to my PCP and he said it was from a bladder infection when I didn't empty my bladder completely. (beginnings of Neuogenic bladder?)

Mine was every time I voided my bladder. But some times it seemed stronger than others.

Dr prescribed a 10 day course of Ciprofloxin and the odor went away very quickly. Dr prescribed another 10 day course in case it came back, which fortunately it has not —- yet!

Mention this odor to your Dr, Lynette. It might be something like what I experienced.

Thanks soooo much sweetie! Its truely an awful chemical smell! Almost embarrassing! No pain involved however I have been known to let bladder infections go in the past to the point of blood in my urine! You are right dear friend! I'm going to see my doc about it as soon as he can get me in! Thanks so much! Your a sweetie! :)
