I have to admit that I'm not one of those people that is/are glued to my computer/internet, so I don't often check this site or my e-mails as often as I should.

So, I was wondering if anyone thought of becoming a Diabetic Pen Pal and using the good old snall mail method to inspire/become good life long friends to others with the same disease. Sending words of encuragement and personal support, growing a greater connection and friendship to those who know what your going through.

What do you think my entended family? Pro's and Con's to the idea of "Diabetic Pen Pals".

I have a couple aunts and cousins whom I write and recieve snail mail letters from - one of my sister-in-laws and I write letters and send things to each other on a regular basis. I look forward to every letter and savor them in the reading.
Sign me up - always nice to make new friends who become "extended family"

I think this is a wonderful idea! I'm sure many people would be very interested in this! The only con I can think of is if your "pen pal" is inapporaite or offensive there should be a way to block or delete them. However there are not any people like that on this site so I think its a wonderful idea! I would love to be signed up!

I think it is a terrefic idea…I agree it is fast with the computers, but there's nothing like going to the mailbox and getting a letter or card "in hand." Keep me posted…

sounds good to me but some people are to busy to take the time to do a letter older people have more time not to say they aren't busy too
