It's basically trial and error. Some fruits will make your sugar go up but not somone else's. We test to make sure. Eat what you want and then test. It takes a while before we can rule out the food that sends the sugar sky high. Basically this is a healthy way of eating. I try to avoid the word "diet" as it makes me think of a rigid way of eating and depriving myslef of the foods I like.

Possibly, but there are serving amounts to consider, and maybe it could be included in a salad or soup. And remember its only suggestions. We each will have to test out what we want and don't want to eat.

Have you tested these items out with your meter to find out what they do to YOUR blood glucose? Some of those items in the starch category and the fruits category particularly may give you a spike.

Hey now, No, I haven't cause of the sugar highs. Those are only suggestions, don't have to eat everything on the list. Some items like the fruits and the starches are something that one would need to watch. Might be added to a salad or to a soup. But,again its only suggestions.

I didn't think so. You certainly MAY have some of those items, to be sure. I would suggest you test each item before you add it to your list.

Jayabee52, ITS ONLY SUGGESTIONS FOR PEOPLE TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION. I DON'T EVEN EAT AN MEDITERANEAN STYLE FOOD DIET. AGAIN, ITS ONLY SUGGESTIONS FOR PEOPLE THAT WANT TO TRY THE MEDITERANEAN DIET. THEY MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE SOME OF THOSE ITEMS THAT ARE IN THE FRUITS AND STARCHES OR THE OLIVES OR AVOCADO. BUT, ITS THE CHOICE OF WHO EVER CHOOSES TO TRY THIS DIET.
